Default Bigger blower?

So...the new Z is coming out sporting a 1.7L Eaton TVS blower. The 2.3L TVS blower has been out since 2008. It's pretty much a proven commodity. I'm running one on my daily driver half ton Chevy (work) truck and another one on my GS (play) Vette. C6 ZR1's use the 2.3L version while new ZL1 Camaro's and CTS-V Caddies use the smaller 1.9L versions. Magnuson makes an upgrade kit for Caddy owners that allows you to swap the 1.9L blower for the bigger 2.3L blower. They probably make the upgrade kit for the Camaro's too.

Hmmm...no reason to leave well enough alone. Everything is there to support a bigger blower. Hope Magnuson doesn't wait too long before offering the upgrade. I'm sure having to get along with "only" 625 hp on the new Z will be tough

Might have fitment issues going bigger. The reason they went 1.74L is packaging. The LT4 sits only an inch higher than the LT1.

The new Heartbeat Maggie TVS2300 fits under the stock C6 hood. I'd bet the Magnuson boys are making sure it fits.

Last I spoke with Andy at A&A, he had taken measurements and was working on a retrofit. I haven't checked to see what options he has up his sleeve, but if you're interested he would be a good one to check with. He had the first supercharged C7, and their kits are moving pretty well. Extremely knowledgable gentleman.

Probably going to lose some responsiveness on the low end going to the larger blower.......I think 650/650 will satisfy me ...especially how the power is delivered.......If anything I would just do a pulley swap and tune...

I could have sworn they said the same inch taller thing for the valley mounted LS9 vs. LS3 when it first came out.

The "fitment issue" is due to European pedestrian crash test standards that mandate a certain distance from the hood to any engine component.
By disregarding this guideline the aftermarket should be able to fit a considerably larger supercharger in there...

A blower update on this motor may prove to be a PITA. You have to realize the blower sits below the intake, up through the laminova intercoolers, then back down into the cylinder. A larger blower (larger housing) may not fit in there requiring an entirely new setup ($$$). Bank for the buck, with how fast they have that thing spinning, I'd imagine meth injection to give more of a reward.
