With the C7Z being superior to the C6 ZR1, is there any reason the C7Z would cost less? I just can't imagine GM selling this car for less than $100k to start.

Just go back and time... The C5Z, crushed the C4 ZR1, even my base C5 didn't have any problem with the C4ZR1's that I beat at the track, the Zr1's were much more expensive than both.
It's called new technology, also the fact that it shares many of the base model parts, will keep cost down.

The chief engineer of the new Z06 stated...subtract $35k from the ZR1 and you have the price of the Z06.

Hope that is sufficient reason.
