A lot of nervous/anxious suits at GM today after this news broke hahaha.
I was considering a stingray or the new z06 or even a zl1 but now I'm waiting to see what this cat is all about.
"Most powerful muscle car ever". Pretty awesome to be able to say that. Can't wait to test drive that thing.

If you pass up a C7 Z06 for this, you win retard of the century award.
The Z06 will still be quicker and faster in a straight line by a considerable amount. Let's not even discuss track, because the Z06 destroys basically anything let alone a 4300 lb pig built on an oversized sedan chassis.

If I can have just as much fun in a car that costs 65K as opposed to a 90k + car then guess which one I'm gonna pick.
I'm not buying my next car to only drive it on sunny Sundays. My next car is going to get used, a lot.
Plus I'd get a back seat so I can bring my WHOLE family to a car show or a cruise night and Not have to pick just one.

Not the case pal.

Well said bud and I agree with you get the car YOU like not what someone else thinks is the best for you..I can't believe the attacks from some people on here just because someone is considers another car besides the Vette...Chill folks....

This made me chuckle a bit, before I thought about the fact that the same logic could be applied to anyone who has purchased a base or Z51 instead of waiting for the Z06. So far, I think that makes about 30,000+ retards.

From Motortrend:
"By surpassing the GT500, the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat takes its place as the most powerful mass-produced American car ever."
Impressive, most impressive.
Hats off to Dodge that is a helluva accomplishment in this day and age.

I agree hats off to Dodge...I think we are so fortunate to be living and enjoying modern day HP war just like they did during the 60's....

Keith, some of the responses are probably coinciding with the thread title. You can't issue a topic title like that then get defensive when people give you some kickback on a Corvette forum. To be fair, awesome job by Dodge but hopefully people who value more than a bragging number won't get hung up on the 700hp+ figure. The Corvette Z06 and Viper will still be faster around the track and in a straight line. Likewise, Porsches with far less horsepower will find their way around tracks just as quickly......why is this a death knell for the Corvette?

The corvette team could have easily upped the power but the increase in performance was neglible.
Let's see the times before we decide gm has been outdone.

This takes all the thunder away from the Z06.
Those considering a C7Z06, might wait a few months for a higher horsepower C7Zr1.
I am sure you did not mean to be offensive by using the word "retard".

I agree with you on which cars are faster and all but to be called RETARDED!! and attacked like that is childish no matter what forum you're on and brand you're talking about but I guess some people are just nasty on a keyboard makes them feel powerful or something..maybe their wives just finished beating them up or something....

Edit: and honestly, I should reserve judgement. I thought the Z28 was disappointing just on trap speeds alone but it shut me up real quick when the track results came in. Excited to see how the Hellcat performs around a track as well.
