Just under 207 mph. Pretty quick. But, I suspect the new Z will hit that number, too, but I do not know how much more the 918 had in it....

True...although the latest (991?) Turbo S with PDK could be a real 'runner' too.

Seriouly they may not have horsepower numbers that blow your mind but those things hook up and MOVE OUT. They are fast as hell. From a dig don't even bother trying...

And what's the point in this whole thread? Why does this stuff even show up on a Corvette Forum?

I was referring to the 918 and 911 turbo..

My neighbor Roy wants to replace his present Porsche 911 turbo with a new 911 turbo but without the manual transmission is not buying the turbo....

For many....it's not the only transmission that everyone wants...(he s a Porsche faithful for decades so this is tough for him)

Needless to say he is disappointed and he is not alone.

Many Porsche faithful are considering the upcoming z06 with 650 hp and a manual transmission....

The PDK-S (upgraded pdk- 7 th gear is not overdrive, faster shifts, etc) is only in the 991 gt3. The standard pdk is only available in the 991 turbo and turbo S, but is an option in their other sports cars.
I recently drove a new 991 turbo with pdk and it's a great transmission. If the zo6 auto is not nearly as a good as the pdk, that will be a big factor in deciding between a z06 and 991 gt3 in the future for me.

I'm not sure which version of the pdk is in the 918 or if it's a unique version that can handle the extra tq

right, I should have clarified that "highest end" includes 918, TT, TT-S and GT3, GT3RS ... and as mentioned the PDK-S on the GT3/GT3RS

Funny how the haters are so into painted valve covers they don't even have any idea why the Z06 numbers are what they are. For those of us who might have one of each, thanks for posting relevant material for those of us who are real car guys. Not paint and trim color guys...

This is a funny thread

So the Porsche dudes have to shell out close to a million before they can have a car that can beat the new Z06?
This is cruel.

The 991 turbo S ($180 k) runs a 2.6 0-60 and 10.6 1/4 mi. The c7 zo6 will be slower 0-60 and probably similar 1/4 mi. Where the zo6 will excel and have before, which is most important IMO, is on the track. The 991 TT S has a ring time of 7:26 and I bet the zo6 will be 10 sec faster. Couple that with the great exterior looks of the zo6 along with the much upgraded interior and seats has guys like me checking out the zo6.
Don't underestimate the porsche though - they are very well built and solid cars that can be driven a lot and tracked. There is something about the feel of driving one that separates it from most cars
