Default 2LZ or 3LZ???

The price difference between the 2 is $5380, take away the $1795 for Nav and that makes it a $3585 difference, does this only include the leather dash like the regular C7?

I am thinking 2LZ is the way to go depending on what color interior you go with.

Why get cheap on a $100,000 car. Pay the extra $3k and get the best

3LZ also includes microfiber-wrapped interior.

And it's a 78,995 car........

You are not one of those guys who said it would base at 100K right?........

I've always done 3 but couple buddies do 2 and to be honest with the exception of Navi, can't really see the difference. So I no longer need Navi and all the extra trim for $5k more does not seem logical. Not going cheap on $100k car but would rather throw that extra cash into a stock or something to earn more. I just don't see the value in the 3LZ but that's me.

That was my thought as well, I will have to see exactly what extra leather is included, I am assuming it is the same as the C7.

I broke 3LZ down this way:

Suede upper: $995
Nav: $795
PDR: $695

Meaning, assuming the above options are worth it, would you pay the remaining $2895 for a full leather dash & upgraded Napa GT seats?

Visually, there is no distinction in the upholstery layout between 2LZ & 3LZ (materials, yes), & I can add suede upper option for $495 (vert), & use the savings for other options like CF tonneau inserts, comp seats, etc.

I'm going 2LZ! If it was as distinguishable as the Stingray 2LT to 3LT, it might be a different decision.

IMO..the key here is are you looking for resale value or retaining this many years down the road?

glad you brought this topic up carnut12, have been debating the same thing, is the higher quality leather and upper suede really worth the money, not so sure it is. I need to check them out in person.

I have the microfiber wheel, shifter and seat inserts. It's very comfortable and with the sun beating down on the interior, its easy to sit in shorts and touch the wheel without getting burned!

I have a 3lt C7. I really can't tell the difference. While @ spring mountain going in and out of different cars I tried and I couldn't tell what it was 2lt or 3lt. I do think my 3lt napa leather smells better. Car has over 18,000 miles, still smells new. I can smell the leather as soon as I enter my garage. I'm leaning towards 2lt this time. My z will be a 2016 so we'll have to see if they change anything. My issue is zo6 or zo7? I really want to drive the two to compare how stiff the zo7 package is in tour. I know Spring Mountain has 15 ordered and will be doing a specific school on Z06 I'm hoping they get both zO6 and zO7's. Anyway I will be going to that school for sure. No better test drive than that!

If you want resale value, then get the fewest options, because options make less and less price difference over time. Aftermarket mods, of course, add nothing to resale value. If it's a keeper, then get all the options you can stand so you won't be kicking yourself later.

The C7 Z06 is very possibly the last supercar available with manual transmission and no hybrid components. My Z vert will be a daily driver for the next 30 years, so I'll be going 2LZ for the heated/vented seats if nothing else, which will double or triple my open-air time compared to my C6 targa coupe. I'm not sure how well the leather 3LZ interior will hold up to inevitable scuffs and spills in daily use; if Stingray experience is good, then I might bump it up to 3LZ.

To each their own but for my money I will stick with a 2lz. My 08 Z06 is a 3 lz and it is worth about the same as any other 08 Z with 25k miles. If I could get a HUD option added to a 1lz I might even do that. I never turn on the sound system and use my phone for nav. My 2c.

The only interior package that I feel is worth the price is the Brownstone suede package that is available on the base C7. If that package was available in Black, I would shell out the coin to get it, but since it's not, it's 1LZ all the way for me, especially since my interior will be black.

HUD is standard on all trim levels.

Unless there is a C7 ZR, my Z07 will have every option, be driven for three years and then added to my collection. No sense to skimp on a halo vette...IMHO. Conversely, my wife sees every car as a waste of money. So, if it was up to her, we'd be on horseback.
