Dale Lomas (Bridge to Gantry) shot this photo of the ZO6 with the level 1 aero package. Looks like they may have only one Level 3 aero car there. Dammit. I doubt they will try a timed hot lap with a level 1 aero package.

Wish I was still in Germany so I could head out that way. I lived about an hour and a half away from the 'Ring. Got a few laps in myself, but you really need sticky tires and big brakes to tackle the curves the way you WANT to.
What a blast it was.
Can't wait to see the time the new Z is clocking. And I hope they have the in-car video recorder as well, like they did for the ZR-1.

Example on the Stingray:

I looked at a large map of the Nordschliefe and watched the ZR1 Ring video that I posted on page 2. The Hatzenbach corner isn't the very first corner like I thought. It is further down the track. The accident photo shows the ZO6 at the end of the tire barrier where the armco is painted white. If you watch the ZR1 video and stop it at the 22-23 second portion of the lap timer clock thats being shown on upper middle portion of the video, you can see where he went off. At that location he going 73-76 mph with the ZR1. I also watched the Z28 video from last year and Adam was going 70-73 with the Z28. Mero must have really been pushing it if he went off in a mid 70 mph corner. Ironically, I also watched the Porsche 918 lap record breaking video to see how fast the 918 was going at that corner. The video didn't have a timer on it like the ZR1 video. But you can see the 918 speedometer showing 114-125kph as he is going through there. That converts to 71-77mph. Mero must have been up in the upper 70 range too. WOW.

That area of the track is notorious for Big Foot sightings. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that Dom Farnbacher was seen putting on the costume and running around near the fence.

I do believe that the suspension bushings and spring rates are different aren't they? There is a thread on this I do believe. It might be too much work to reset this all up on a Level 1 aero car thats probably been optimized for it's own testing program.

The shocks also have a different calibration.
