Dont know about you, but i am quite happy that my 90K car is not "lowered" at the factory.. guessing that part of my car would be left on the transport if it were... ill gladly take the 4x4 look and deal with correcting it later

yah i would be happy if my 110k car came lowered from the factory. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

If the car looks high.....then just freaking lower it....that's simple, it's not like the car can never be lower.
1. First buy the car.
2. Drive the car into your garage.
3. Turn a bolt to lower the car.
4. Drink a beer to celebrate.
5. Go to sleep.

The C7's go pretty low stock. Not everyone wants to drive them slammed though.
I live on the peninsula and scrape coming out of the driveway -- and it's not lowered at all. It sucks. One day I'll have to replace the front fascia (hopefully not for at least a couple years) as I'm sure I'll rub through eventually and the front fangs will flake off. No way you could drive a z06 around some of these cities with a lowered c7, MUCH LESS, the Z06 as it has the additional splitter which makes it even longer and lower.

I hear ya about ride height. stance is something more and more Vette guys seem to value, at the same time that we geezers head toward extinction. eventually older gens will look like those shorts worn in the NBA in the seventies. generally, the larger the change the larger the financial ri$k. but sooner or later the factory will have to catch up with tastes. not slammed but not looking like you could put your fist in their sideways either.
other than height issues of 4x4 could you imagine though if there was a lower, AWD version of the top dog Vette? a C7 Z06 would be a whole other animal.

I scrape the air dam going in and out of my driveway and at several local intersections with dips. Not to mention plenty of commercial driveways around here with culverts than I can't drive into or out of without tearing up the splitter. (There are atually shopping centers that I cannot drive into.) You guys that live in places with nice flat roads are lucky.

I was not sure how to take the article being a newbie. How do you lower the car to track height? Can the dealer do this? Is it a simple bolt to turn, or do I need to get the car aligned when doing so. As long as I am asking….are there adjustment threads on the stock suspension to corner balance the car?

The car comes extremely high for practical purposes of loading, lifting, driving. But indeed I will drop it to where there's no fender gap and it will transform the look into something more amazing and aggressive. My C6Z sits low with the side skirts 3" from the ground. No problems driving...You just have to know how to drive a lowered car, but it's not for everyone.

It doesn't really bother me since it's an easy mod to lower it.
What does bother a little is how Chevy had all these photos of the z06 with no wheel gap at all and it looked perfect. Then the closer it came to production time and some cars were seen on the road, the wheel gap got huge lol.
Still can't wait to get one though!

The wheel gap comments crack me up.
It's an easy adjustment to change it.

Look at the pictures of the car on track at speed or under braking - very low! The suspension is designed for high travel to create the camber and caster gain to make it handle (well thought out by GM, not an accident). Add to that the travel caused by real down force (unlike the "lift" on earlier Corvettes) and imagine what will happen when your "lowered" Corvette runs out of travel and you bottom the suspension (or the splitter like what is happening at the Ring) at speed and under high cornering loads -- not pretty -- instant push. It all depends on what you intend to do with the car and on individual tastes -- cruise low and "cool", or run hard and quick, the way some pretty smart engineers designed it to do.
