First of all there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers. This guy asks a valid question and for the most part has received some very good advice. His question is very subjective so from my point of view. if you can swing it go for the Z06. I have only had mine for a few months and 870 miles but I could not be happier. Shifting the M7 is an absolute joy and the power surge is incredible. I am very aware of how quickly one can get in trouble with such a powerful car and am mindful every time I drive as I have kids to consider. I am going to try to get out the driving school in Vegas to further my skillset which I would recommend to you as well. I hope your splurge and if you need any direct advice let me know

PS the car is really easy to drive and handles incredibly well. As Motor trend stated a few years back, The Corvette is finally a complete sports car and American made!!

LOL. I can relate. I don’t think my new Borla Xpipe helps the situation either 😄

Its all about your right foot and how responsible you are going to be with the vehicle. I don't need 650HP anymore than you need 460HP; no body does on the street. In my case, it's a Want not a Need. I love Corvettes, but to keep you out of trouble, you need to respect them as well.

Exactly - right on the money

Just try it for yourself and see. I was considering a grand sport but the power of the z06 in a straight line is something you have to experience to appreciate.
You took the words out of my mouth!

Having had the 460hp Stingray before the 650hp ZO6, my suggestion is to get the ZO6. I had the Stingray for 4 years and in the beginning I thought the car was plenty fast. As time went on I found myself wanting more power. The ZO6 was the answer and so far I have no desire for more. Both cars were equipped with the 7sp manual. With the ZO6 on the highway in the upper gears (up to 6th) the car pulls so strong there is no immediate need to downshift. As a bonus if you can hook it up in first and second gear the feeling in the pit of your stomach is unreal!

The Z06 is better with 800hp. The 2300, intake, headers, and tune increases the fun makes it a real beast.

Set up correctly it really is the only AMERICAN supercar. Short of the Ford GT. Mine feels like it is at Hypercar levels. Slightly less weight than stock and a 150-200 hp more depending what the octane is on the fuel you run. But near 800hp on 92 is no joke. Then add the DCS controller and it really handles and drives awesome. Plus has the raw power to say see ya to most any car.

650 HP is more then enough for me especially with all that torque. The car seems to take flight on take off.

Default z06 user freindly

I've owned many many fast vettes. In general, never get on it unless the car is pointed straight down the road. I see many people flooring their cars while turning a corner. A great way to get into trouble. Respect the car and don't take chances changing lanes irradically.
