If you track a z06 coupe, can you do so without the roof panel in?

I'm 6' 4" and 200 lbs and sat in one (2015 Z06) today...and it's doable....though, with helmet, would likely rub the roof. I'm sure you've done the "move seat all the way up, then adjust all the way downward...and then move back" trick.

The other thing I've done on past Vette's is remove the left "dead pedal" and replaced with a chunk of wood (that i specifically cut for that spot...and bolted in....which at least gave my left leg a lot more room. Not sure how much surgery that would require on the 2015, but plan to try once I get mine----speaking of which...I made the dealership a fairly decent offer (under sticker)....which they declined.....hopefully as winter wears on...and the year clicks over...they'll come off sticker for Z06s.

6'3" and it is tight. I really don't know how anyone taller sits in the car comfortably. There ********ting themselves into believing it's ok. The C6 has way more room.

GM are you listening? You are losing sales to the tall folks like me. I'm 6'7" and 320 pounds and my 07 vert is comfortable even with the top up. I could barely fit into the 2015 C7 and therefore won't be getting one unless you (GM) can restore the room of the C6.

Many will tell you otherwise because they simply love the car, but its best to just wait and sit in one before you buy or you may well be very disappointed.

My 2c. Good luck.

Either way I did unplug it and it seems like I gained a couple more inches of legroom, but not from the seat backrest going back more because it was already hitting the back before the mod, but from the seat going/sinking lower down...
Did this actually work for you? I would like to gain a few more inches if possible? Also if it unplugged, is there a possibility that the seat goes too far and off the track for any reason?

Thanks,

Whats your height and weight if you don't mind me asking?

And does it allow for the seat go back further and lower?

Thanks!

What color is your interior? I am sure someone would be willing to trade. I have dibs if it is red.

160lbs, and 6' with longer legs compare to upper torso.

I don't recall if the seat went lower but I definitely gained an inch or two back. Enough to where that I am now totally comfortable too with steering wheel reach. I like my arm extended far out...

Could you please point out in the pic below what you did? I pulled the seat out of my C7Z and this is what it looks like...no harness like the C7 Stingray that I could see!

I don't have a C7 but from what I've read, the sensor is actually behind the drivers side carpet. Good photo on page 1.
I don't think it requires a seat removal, just slide it forward so u can access the carpet behind it.

Yes exactly, it is behind the drivers side back seat rest. Does not require seat removal, just move the seat forward and the backrest forward, and peel back the carpet, and it is right around the neck/shoulder area, NOT by the floor...

Anyone else been successful in making this mod? I am almost 6'3"....my left knee whacked the dash getting in and after sitting in the car it was a bit tight, the position was good for tracking, but for casual driving I would like those extra inches...

Hah. Khalahari. You know I just bought a new Yukon Denali and I'm finding the seats in that to be uncomfortable too. Too narrow and bolsters on sides of seat bottom are hard so unless you have a 32" waist or smaller chances are it won't be as comfortable as it could. I find the same with my Z. Where my C6 seats were great for the road (way too soft without support for track) the new ones are simply too narrow. I can kind of understand it in the Vette but a friggin Suburban? Back to Ford for me I guess (love the seats in my F250).

I unplugged the harness in the pic and this mod is a bust for the Z06...maybe it works for the C7 Stingray but I GUARANTEE zero results of the seat moving back any further on the Z06 (I have the base seats). I measured a before and after and the results were identical
