Default Front Aero Plate

I saw an option on the Chevy Z06 build site for an Aero Plate. I assume that this is like the Aero Plate option for the Stingray for mounting a front plate in the grille. Anyone have pictures of this piece? The one for the base car is molded for the grille.

That comes with the stingrays. I hope it comes with the Z06 as well. The front license plate bracket is really ugly compared to the aero plate. Anybody who already has their car should be able to tell us.

The "kit" for mounting the front plate on the 15 ZO6 is included with the delivery hardware (nick nacks including a tube for filling gas with something other than a gas station dispenser - I used mine to put Sta-Bil into the tank prior to storing the car for the winter months) . As I understand it, the plate can be easily popped off for a race day and snapped back on after the event. I live in Ohio where we are required to install front plates. I don't intend to mount it unless things here get crazy for front plates (since 2000 I have not put front plates on any sports cars or trucks). The only front plate I have mounted is on my 2012 Volt, my other cars go without.

Exactly what do you want to know? How it mounts?
Several of us Stingray owners trimmed the aero panel down to where it is just the size of the plate so you cannot even see the bracket.
It mounts with just two plastic fasteners in the top holes to the grille, and is easily removed by backing out the screws.

Do you have a part number for the Z06 aero plate mount?

Hello! There is a Z06 aero plate and we are selling it for $42.09. The retainers are the same as stock retainers. When contacting me I just need to know if you need the retainers or not. Please contact me gene@cultragperformance.com if you're interested in one.

They are the black. If you would like color coordinated I can arrange for this to be done.

Technically, yes. Air flow in the center of the grille will be affected. Cooling to the brake ducts would not be.

If you trim the bracket down to just the size of the plate where it allows air to flow above and below the plate, the reductions is minimal. If you add the Z06 spoiler, which splits the air flow, it should also direct more airflow up and into the grille area.

Yes - the ZO6 comes with the aero plate. My ZO6 came with both, but there's no way I'd use the straight license plate!

Here's a related question for some observant owner out there: Both the aero plate and license plate occupy a large amount of the grill. That means there's likely less air available for the coolers that are mounted up front. Has anyone noticed if their car's temperatures (with coolers up front) have increased?

Thanks!

Trackwise, they also interfere with the aerodynamic ducting of the plenum that goes from the grille up though the louvre on the hood.

Problem is, no one has come up with a clean, simple, quick removal scheme for the Z06 yet. There is one for the Stingray.
