Sure seems that very few Crystal red cars are being ordered. The registry is sparse w the CRTs. I would have bet that CRT would be as popular as DSOM, buT? I just don't get it. My maxed out A8, is on order w CRT and Kalahari int. Any ideas why this is not a popular color?

CR is a beautiful color in the sun, a bit subdued in the shade but one I would definitely consider ordering. Maybe it's because we see a lot of other cars on the road with similar shades.

I bought my 2013 GS new with crystal red metalic tintcoat and gladly paid the $900 option.
A year later my wife bought a new 2014 Chevy Equinox with the same exact crystal red metalic tintcoat color and it was a $395 option.
I believe in capitolism and what the market will bear, and that said, if I were ordering a new C7 today I would opt for one of the "free" colors and put that nearly $1K towards other options.
CRM in full sunlight is very beautiful.
If CRM were a "free" color, there would be many more made. If black were a $900 option there would be less made/ordered.
Imagine if chrome/silver wheels came standard, and black wheels were a $2,000 option.
Imagine the configurations if all 10 body paint colors cost the same, and all 4 wheel colors cost the same.
If the color Daytona sunset/sunrise/sun up/ sun down/atomic/monaco/infero/flame/ and every other flavor of orange (peel) were free, we would see alot more of them.
It's all good

I think it looks awesome! Here's a link that 04c5Z06 posted back in Sep.

I also think it is a color that shouldn't have a premium price because of the lesser demand of recent.

CRM is one of my favorite colors. And I considered it when I ordered my 2014. But I had to pay GM $500 more for red calipers and $500 more for black wheels, so I didn't have any money left to pay them $1,000 for a paint color. So I went with white.
The good thing for you, is you like the color, and there won't be as many CRM Vettes out there as other colors. A win win for you.

My dealership contacts even tell me that the metallic red colors just won't sell on sports cars. This isn't just for Corvettes. But, the color is popular on luxury cars and SUV's. The "candy apple red" and maroon colors tend to be picked by older buyers, is what I hear.

Personally I don't think the lines of the C7 flatter CR as well as the ones of the C6. My ZR1 is CR and I love the color. But I haven't much cared for it on the C7s I have seen painted in it.

Well here's my 2 cents. I actually took delivery of a 2014 Crystal Red Z51 Stingray last spring. It is a very "conservative" safe color. I didn't mind it at all. But when I was able to get an allocation for a ZO6 I jumped at the chance and took the Z51 back to the dealer and got me the best deal possible. I have on order a Black ZO6 with red interior. Going to put on aftermarket full length dual racing stripes in bright red (not the dark crystal red). Also going with the black wheels. Kinda the sinister look if you will.

However when ordering my Z06, I decided to change to Blade Silver with red interior, so people would know it wasn't my 2014. Crazy I know but wife had large influence.

CRM is a BEAUTIFUL color. I had a CRM 2007 coupe and a 2010 CRM Grand Sport, so when I ordered the new Z06, it was a tough decision to part ways with the CRM. BUT, as stated by antivnom, in my opinion also, the new C7 body style tends to have more "pop" with some of the other colors. That being said, the Z06 is rare in that it looks soooooo good in every color offered. So hey, you're the one that is enjoying your new Z06 everyday in CRM and that's really all that matters. The world would be pretty boring if we all liked the same things. By the way, I took delivery of my Laguna Blue 2 weeks ago and couldn't be happier with the car. What an amazing piece of engineering and design. Merry Christmas!
