I am curious if any one has a nice set-up for their pistol while in the new Z? Pics please!

You'll see a few folks in the "C7 Section" have figured out ways to secure a smaller pistol in the lock-up area behind the Nav screen. Personally, i say - How about: in your holster? Or don't bring it with you when you can't carry it concealed? Leaving a pistol locked up in a car is just a silly proposition, IMHO.

On you, or in your safe at home.

I always carry one on me and a backup in the car. The backup straps to my ankle. My primary draw is always from the hip, Glock 27. The ankle is a Kel-tec. I never leave my firearms inside the vehicle while unattended.

If it is winter time and I have a big enough coat, I will carry a full size instead of the G27. As for the Kel-tec, I don't like having to trust a .22, but makes for a great back-up and peace of mind.

When I read about the storage space behind the navigation I immediately thought it would be a great place for my little lcp. Glad to hear it's big enough for a gun.

I was just doing some research and definitely looks like enough space for your LCP and the Kel-tec, maybe even the G27. I am curious to see if a full size will fit in there.

Above and beyond anything my wife or I carry, there is a Ruger LC9 with a Crimson Trace laser in the hidden compartment. The laser makes aiming across your body and out (or through) the window much more accurate.

Yeah I just watched a video of it and it does seem to have a good amount of space. It would be pretty sweet if a full size would fit!

Not sure i follow, what is the purpose of having somewhere tp put the gun if you don't intend on leaving it there ever? So basically you bring it in on your ankle, take it off and store it when you drive, then tale it back out and put it on your ankle when you arrive where you are going? You need a place for that?

Settle down. I have 17 other 1911's, I just wanted a unique range toy to play with

Maybe my NHC is more to your liking?

The Glock 27 will fit but it's tight, a 442 S&W hammer less fits good. I don't think there is anyway you are going to get a full size Glock in there.

I'm guessing you've never driven stick with a pistol strapped to your ankle before.

Not yet. Haven't seen them become available in Canada yet.

But I have some other toys to tide me over!

On you, or in your safe at home.
In IL we have the "safe harbor provision" which allows us to keep our handgun locked in the car when entering "no gun zones". It is a felony to carry one where prohibited, and useless in your safe at home.

As to what will fit, a Springfield XDS 3.3 (9 or 45) will fit, but kinda of tight. I keep a Glock 42 in mine. I'm not a big fan of the 380, but if necessary I can get off a couple of rounds, and the car is fast enough to get me out of there.

Sadly, I don't believe the revolvers I regularly carry will fit behind the screen:
