If you don’t already have that order for your Z06 locked in, you might want to start asking yourself exactly how much over sticker you’re willing to pay for the car.

At $110K for a well optioned coupe, I would pay a little more maybe as much as $10K. Any more than that and you have really opened the door to the next level of vehicles and have lost one of the best selling features of the C7Z which is the performance achieved for such a small (relative) price.

I wouldn't pay even one dollar over sticker/MSRP for ANY car/truck.
I would sooner just wait until the hype dies down or even do without that particular model altogether before paying more than MSRP.
I do love cars, but I love money too.

Anymore and I would have waited for the used market like My ZR1.
Then any less options included in the 1lz could have made me wait too!
I sold my Blown C7 right before the specs were released.
Yes I have one on order.
Since I still have 2 more Corvette's. The 82k I'm spending was/is tops.
The dealers with the huge mark-up will come down to earth.
Imo the 100k optioned up cars are already and going to be too numerous and won't all sell and we will see discounts by summer. Just watching how in stock stuff is selling and how many.
I don't think the 100k 2 seater car market is as huge as everyone thinks.
Hope I'm wrong on this.

HuH?
I think sales will drop off a cliff if they increase the price.
Its also obvious that the $140K plus purchase was a "status" buy. Impulsive? Sure.

10K more is a heck of cruise or vacation to help make the wait easier till more are around... or will pay for a nice second set of wheels as a car trailer.

Don't let the local SoCal dealers over-charge you!
As I live in the LA area, I've got more than ten dealers vying for my Z06 purchase. I'm looking at fully loaded cars with the Z07 track package, which list for $102k - $107k depending on the roof packages, competition seats, and other minor items I don't care about like luggage, carbon fiber interior trim, etc. Two of these dealers are asking for $30k over sticker, five are asking for $20k over, and a very few are asking for $10k over sticker. None of these clowns would budge, so I decided to look at dealers in other states.
I saw Kerbecks ad on this forum and they are selling at MSRP. Although my local dealers claim these "out of state" cars can't be smogged or registered in California due to stricter emmissions standards, they are LYING! I called CARB ( California Air Resources Board) which is the state division that specs the smog standards and they indicated that the VIN that Kerbeck gave me indeed is California legal. I got so worked up over the dealers misrepresentation that I felt like calling the BBB to lodge a complaint, but eventually got over it. The moral of this story is: shop around and save $10-30,000. Don't allow your local dealer to take advantage of you! Remember, people can only do to you what you allow them to do! Quote attributed to Carlos Casteneda writing as Don Juan, The Sorcerer.

I purchased several cars from Autonation in Maryland and they gave me a few dollars off the MSRP, on my 2015 Z07! my salesman Scott Doyle is an ace and takes good care of me and all my chevy needs!
His iPhone is (443) 677-9637 and he is a straight shooter! Tell him Theo Harris send you and he will take good care of you.
Another dealer is Baltimore (Koons) marks the cars $20,000 over and they really do not give good service
So let's see $$$ off the MSRP and fantastic service from the sales, service department all the way to financing 1.99% by corvette enthusiast at Autonation Chevrolet in Timonium Maryland or the bad over priced service at Koons Chevrolet in White Marsh Maryland?
What do you think?

At 100k, this car is already expensive. Anything more, people will be pushed into other brands.
A lot of the people here are buying this car with 84 months financing. When you do that an extra 20k on top of a 120k corvette (hypothetical figure) is really pocket change per month. So you may as well go buy a GT3 and drive a proper exotic car that is "rare". There are 400 GT3s in the US, being one of 400 does give you exclusivity.
Corvette on the other hand already sold more cars in the first month in December than how many Porsche produced in the entire production run. To me an expensive car like that has to feel exclusive. It's not all about numbers. It's also about image and the feel. I don't want to pay 150k for a Corvette knowing there is 10,000 of them out there in 2-3 years.

When the MSRP came out at $78,000, everybody said it was much lower than they expected.
And it is in fact an outstanding buy for a car with the capabilities of much higher priced supercars.
MSRP will go higher and those waiting for lower prices will pay more.

I would and have walked out of a dealer laughing at any ADM - there is just way too much competition out there to do otherwise.

Nope. I wouldn't pay anything over MSRP and neither should anyone here. We have too many board sponsors that will gladly sell you a Z06 at MSRP to be suckered into an overpriced Vette.
Being impatient will cost you big time.
