UPDATE:

The current plan will be to place the "HOME" of this thread in C7 Performance/Tech, and then stickys in Z06 and General that redirect to that home thread. This will hopefully make this thread more visible to all of the C7 ownership, versus just the Z06 guys. Certainly there are Stingray/Z51 guys tracking these also and they aren't finding this thread.

Zymurgy has offered to help for the cause so, it's nice to have an ally that supports tracking these beasts and bringing the track guys together!

Need one of the pros to go back to MRLS after Pobst's recent time. Good, but disappointing.

Race guys. Anybody running a catch can? I've had big power loss and check engine light on track after installing elite engineering catch can. Got codes for intake performance, and fuel trim?? Do you still and 1/2 qt oil for track? Almost filled my can on first 4 laps out. ?? Help?

Hey Dabig, this is a good question to prolly post in the main forum.

I don't know any track guys that run catch cans - I sure don't - but those error codes and oil consumption sound like you are sucking oil into the intake track. Any chance of an overfill? I ask because I've done it on a dry sump motor before and it makes a hell of a mess in the intake track, causes big power loss and messes with the AF ratio.

If not overfill (and I know nothing about catch cans) is it possible a vacuum is being created somewhere and pulling oil into the intake through the plumbing of the catch can (or maybe an error in the plumbing)?

Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch
Radical Loop (1.5m loop)
Transmission Type M7
Driving Mode/Settings: Track / PTM: Sport 1
Z07, Stage 3, Track Alignment
Tires - MPSS
Conditions/Temp: Dry/52*F
Overheat warning/failure : None
Best Lap: 1:23.56
Notes - Lead follow format necessitated earlier braking than necessary. When not behind the (instructor) pace car I was held back slightly by C7 z51. My best 3 laps I was directly behind the pace car. With that said this was my first HPDE, although I do sim race and have karted some. It was also quite cold.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback!

I've only run the track with East Carolina Corvette Club (ECCC), they usually host this event the 1st or 2nd weekend in August.

Link: East Carolina Corvettes Club Website

According to Motorsportsreg it appears ApexFest is hosting a 2-day track event there on April 9-10.

Link: ApexFest 2-day Event

Link: ApexFest Facebook Page

I send you a PM when the ECCC sends me the flyer for this year's event.

When that's formatted properly I can add it ^

As posted on pg 1:

This is how your name will appear:

-Verified with PDR available (or other video/data), name in blue
-Unverified due to issue or problem, name in black
-Your BEST Time. I don't care if this is your first time on a track ever...the point is to just log your best, so it can compare with other owners (it may be their first time as well).
-A brief abbreviation of transmission type (M7 or A8)/C7 (will indicate base), Z51, Z06 Lev 1, 2 or Z07/Tire type
-A "Details" link will appear after your name which, when clicked, will allow the reader to zoom to your specific post to see your pics/vid/details/comments/etc.

RULES:

- Time must be actually timed (PDR/Aftermarket datalogger/transponder/digital timer/etc), no guesses or estimates.
- Driver must submit their own time (exceptions will be made at my discretion)

======================================== ======================================== ========

Submit Times in this Format:

-Track
-Layout (if more than 1)
-Transmission Type
-Driving Mode/Settings
-Aero Package/Option Package/Setup
-Tires
-Conditions/Temp
-Overheat warning/failure if any
-Best Time of the day/Session achieved
-Modifications, if any
-Notes (issues experienced, failures, passenger, anything pertinent that you feel affected your time, etc)

Youtube Vid link if available

Pics if you choose to add

Circuit of the Americas
F1 Standard CCW
Transmission Type M7
Driving Mode/Settings: Track / PTM: Sport 1
Z07, Stage 3, Track Alignment
Tires - R7s
Conditions/Temp: Dry/74
Overheat warning/failure : None
Best Lap: 2:30.8
Mods: PS cooling mod, Lawdogg brake cooling mod.
Notes - With Passenger. First time running the R7s. Impressive. 2 secs per lap faster than cup 2s. That's a 997 GT3 RS in front of me. He was hauling the mail.

Notable I ran brake temp paint on my rotors...even with lexan winglets, rotor temps registered between 800-1000 degrees. No bueno.

Front rotors are cashed. They have about 10 track days on them, my 2nd set of front pads is also done, and my first set of rears are gone. The front pads were completely white after the first day of a two day weekend.

The first set of front pads lasted 8 days, this second set lasted 2 days at COTA after the rotors started to break down and pock.
