I think there is no question. The "spoilers" alter pressure over the rear window all the way up to the roof. That's why I say I'd be less concerned of air going over top of the foil, and more concerned with beneath. The wing makes it's low drag downforce due to the underside, while it makes drag inducing downforce from the top. I think the spoiler could be starving the underside of the airfoil...that's be my guess.

On another note though, that's a hell of a nice wing setup...I like.

Wing looks familiar.....

The oem spoiler needs to go, it definitely is keeping me from getting the most out of the wing.

New Personal best for me at Motorsport Ranch Cresson last night in Track Night in America n my 2015 Z51

-Motorsport Ranch Cresson
-1.7 CCW
-M7
-Track Sport 1
-Z51 w/ MSRC
-MPSS (just shy of wear bar at start of day)
-70 degrees overcast humid. Very mild showers in between sessions, track stayed dry.
-No overheating, IAT <100, coolant < 230 on the last lap of each session per OBD data, brakes steamy after last session but it was very humid.
-1:25.46 best lap running in the intermediate group
-Procharger (horizontal intercooler) at 8 psi, (570 rwhp, 545 rwtq)
-First 20 minute session and the car felt like the tires were bald. Very squirrely. 2nd and 3rd sessions were planted. Seems like the cooler weather really needed a bit of time to heat up the tires. I was happily surprised at how low my temperatures remained.

Other notable cars:
Trailered in 2015 mustang 5.0 highly modded, I handtimed him to a 1:24-1:26 on a few laps and he was the fastest car in the advanced group.
Golf R (tuned to ~350 rwhp) with springs, motor mounts and Ventus RS-3 (IIRC) left me in the dust during the first few laps (granted I ran 5 seconds slower in the first session). I was hoping to run with him again in the 2nd and 3rd sessions where I was much faster, didn't get to. He didn't time his laps.
2016 Mustang GT (non PP) with MPSS 275/285 ran 1:29 which i think is a very good time for that car.

I may hop to the advanced group next time as that will be my 4th day at this track and seem to be running right in the middle of their speeds but the whole pass-whenever-with-a-point-by scares me a bit. I will also be swapping to R888s and track pads so that should shaved a few seconds off my time.

Default VIR Full 2:00.7

Z06/Z07 -A8 - stage 3 aero - finspeed rims, Hoosiers - otherwise stock. No problems or issues.
This is the same event where Por-Sha ran a 1:59, but we weren't running together on his best time or mine. To see us running together, see my 2:01.6 post with him in front.

Default Thunderhill - 4/2/16

I added a link to a you tube video, as you requested, which should give you the verification you want. Thunderhill has several configurations available, which I'm sure makes your job harder. My track day was on the 5-mile course, not taking the bypass on the east side (we did the cyclone), but taking the bypass on the west side, which eliminates 8W, 9W, and 10W. I believe this is the most common format for running both sides together. I think turns 8W, 9W, and 10W are only being used when people are running the west side by itself. So for purposes of this sticky, posting 5-mile with the west bypass should be a fairly common course. Thanks for doing this.

That was a ton of fun. I posted up a video of my new PB on MPSC2 from that session. I managed a 2:01.87 and I think I lot of it was from running in your wake on the straights You can really see the additional grip the Hoosiers had on the Michelin's in the slow corners and you really could rocket out of Oak Tree with that A8.

Not yet, I'm in Italy for a few weeks, my forum notification emails are not flowing to my phone very good. I'll check my PM's

How has the wing worked out for you?
With the L3 on mine I could get 155-156mph back straight at COTA, with wing and OEM stub spoiler plus OEM L3 front spliter, I'm top at 150mph.
But picked up 8-10mph in the turns. I should do better one I get the aero balanced.

-Overheat warning/failure if - None
-Best Time of the day/Session achieved - 1:59.89

Regarding the recent PDR issues, not the below picture. A dead giveaway is when average speeds don't match up with the lap time (i.e. a slower average speed but a faster lap time).
***EDIT: End before any comments about why did I only run 5 laps this session...it was the first session out for the event. I seem to be having a sporadic problem with my TPMS working when swapping wheels/tires around and last time out at Sebring I had the local race shop reset the TPMS. The consequences of a blown tire at Daytona-Rolex are huge, and after half-a-dozen laps it's prudent to pit-in and take a look at everything, especially tire pressures.***

I ran the Corvette Driver's School at Spring Mountain on 4/13-14 in their C7 Z06/Z07 A8. It was my first time on track in a C7 and at Spring Mountain and I was really looking forward to seeing how well the car worked in anticipation on tracking and autox-ing my new Z06.

Here's some video on the final session where we had a car in another group run off track and limit our time, unfortunately during my time behind the instructor.

-Track: Spring Mountain North/South
-Layout (if more than 1)
-Transmission Type: A8
-Driving Mode/Settings: Track PTM Sport1
-Aero Package/Option Package/Setup: Stage 3
-Tires: Michelin PSS
-Conditions/Temp: 75, light wind
-Overheat warning/failure if any: None
-Best Time of the day/Session achieved: 1.48.72
-Modifications, if any: Standard school prep
-Notes (issues experienced, failures, passenger, anything pertinent that you feel affected your time, etc): Needed another lap to get instructor to go faster. :-)
