At first I was really confused by your gear choices, then I remembered it was an A8
Nice driving.

Nice driving. That was with a pass in T1 too. I noticed that your vmax were a good 4 MPH higher than I've seen and that's with stage 3 aero. I wonder how much of that was more grip from the Hoosiers letting you get through oak tree faster.

I told Truth I would upload the entire session, have tried twice without success. Keep getting a broken connection.
If it helps, here is a 2:03.89 lap posted earlier on a thread "black car on hoosiers at VIR" - where there is a pics of car

Day 2 of 4 at VIR and it looks like this is the only dry one we will get so I'm go ahead and post up times. I am super happy with these times and I think sub 2 minute times are possible with the right driver and conditions.
A couple of things that I think picked up a lot of time. The first is that I'm using the no lift (up)shift on the straights and the run up to the climbing esses. It's definitely faster and makes a wonderful noise that some folks said sounds like I had a DSG. The other is that I started upshifting in to 5th at around 5500 RPM on the front straight. That let me stay in the gas longer and pickup several MPH of top speed going in to T1.
-Track: VIR
-Layout (if more than 1): Full
-Transmission Type: M7
-Driving Mode/Settings: Track->PTM->Sport 1/2
-Aero Package/Option Package/Setup: Stage 3
-Tires: Hoosier A7, started with cold pressures of 26F/26R
-Conditions/Temp: upper 50's and cloudy
-Overheat warning/failure if any:
-Best Time of the day/Session achieved: 2:01.3 - video is at
-Modifications, if any: Standard track prep (15W50, Castrol SRF, alignment). AP Racing front brakes with DSUNO pads.
-Notes (issues experienced, failures, passenger, anything pertinent that you feel affected your time, etc):
I also managed a 2:03.0 on Cup 2 tires the session prior. Video is at:

Lead up to SEMA...was helping two companies with some logistics and was traveling most of october. Just got back home finally, so can update here. Plus Snorman sent me a pm cursing me out, so (jk) Updating this with a mobile device is a pain, because I use two screens and need to select things the mouse helps with.
ANYWAY....updated

Updated with videos and some notes. RC000E you might want to update the first post with the new Cup 2 time as well.

Scraping the splitter.

-Overheat warning/failure if any: None, but car did go into low power mode once late in first day with coolant temps well under control

The below data from the first afternoon session on Sunday. Second session (with above laps) ended at ~15 minutes due to front pads being shot.

Advanced
I'd give it a go, but considering that time is faster than what I have done with my SCCA GT2 car from last year, and I'm at least 3-4 seconds slower than that pace with the C7 Z06, I'm not sure it could be reached. I'd be interested to know how much the Z07 aero, tires and brakes are worth over the base Z06.

RC000E,
My lap isn't the greatest but I decided to post it anyways since there isn't much video out there for VIR's Grand Course. I think Sean ran a sub 3-minute lap, so hopefully he'll post it eventually.

BTW, that white Viper I point by between T10 and 11 is the development car for the same DSC Sport suspension we've been talking about for the C7Z.

I didn't start this for record books...just people to check out different tracks and what other vette guys are running. I might start working with an admin to see if I can start pooling C5/6/7 data all together somehow here.

You're pretty smooth though...you drive clean and always generally seem well ahead of the car. That big *** course leaves a lot of small places for speed but, you do some work in that car. Good job man.
