Gonna add cooling system "fix/hack" threads too I suppose...make it easy for the track guys to figure out how to do a track day without limp mode involved.

Default Laguna Seca 2007 Z06

The is a cool video of Laguna Seca that shows speeds, lap times, etc. Note my best laps time was 1:40, although my best time has been 1:37. When I get the C7 Z06 on the track, assuming the car will stay under 92dbs without lifting between turns 5 & 6, I assume the time should be about 1:34.

No, that isn't me driving. I have only had the chance to do the full 5 mile course in the Z06. Time not impressive while learning. Lol. Car is on Cup2s in this video. I have only driven Supersports so far. My best for the 3 mile is a 2:08 in my previous car (Cayman R) on older Cups. Looking forward to seeing what I can do in the Z06. I'm not sure I'll ever be a 2:00 driver in any car. As you know, that is fast. The C6 Z06 continues to be a world class car on the track with a good driver.

Thanks for the posting! If you could, can you add some details of what we're seeing here. Can you detail mods to the C6Z for a proper perspective?

Team OGI and Greg Quillen both added...thank you for your contribution...please add any further track days you guys do. We want any and all data of heat issues, ambient temps and track time impact (if any) that is experienced. We'd like to gather reliability info, gather all the people who often track so others can ask questions, etc.

Greg and TeamOGI,

Thanks much for posting all of this. Beautiful job of driving by both of you in beautiful cars. Couple of things I find interesting and very informative. Greg your data numbers show no temp problems until 84 F, I believe. That's exactly the temp, I believe TJ said, over which, one could expect possible xs heat and looks like your up into the 290s on oil at this point.

TeamOGI, I notice traction warning light, particularly in some of the turns, and in your data the tire pressures are over the 40 psi range. This is the tire pressure level at which "Lawdog149" spun at RA. I think the starting pressure for the super sports, according to others, are optimum at about 28 depending on ambient track temps. For the cup 2s, I think about the same.

Fun vids and you both make me want my car. Best regards. DN

Doc - Thanks for the feedback - I have been pretty **** about getting all the settings to match Chevy's recommendations - The owner's manual says (section 10 pg 57) to set the tires to 38 PSI cold which is where I started. Are others having issues at pressures above 40 when hot? I did see that the tire color (on the dash video display) turned to red ("hot") during the run - 1st time I had seen that over the three track days that I have experienced.

Thank you.. i try.. just a beginner .. this is my second year tracking a car
the over heating.. it didnt help i was running 3/4 of the oval where you at full throttle most of the lap.. so im sure that generates more heat.. no time to cool..
WeaponX has Dewitt Radiator, and a Heat exchanger i might do if i get futher problems.. i did want to raise the hp/..

He i think his stability light came on because he was in regular mode. not a PTM like sport 1.. I know i had stability kicking in constantly once when i looked and i had regular traction control and stability on..
but yeah 40psi pressure going to make you have less traction available.. i start at 26psi cold then play with it from there.. I shoot for 34-35 hot.. but have hit 36 to 37 plenty of times as you can see with tires getting hot..

PS side not.. as per GM.. I changed my radiator fluid out to 20% coolant 80% distilled water and water wetter... lets see whats happens tomorrow..

Pittrace North definitely works the left front tire hard. I've run there when the surface temp was mega hot...you gotta really watch your pressures on the left front as the day progresses to afternoon or your tires will be gone...lol.

"If reduced performance is

i did have a/c on too.. it was hot.. ****..

Dealer told me go 20% coolant.. will give corrosion protection and freeze protection to 15F ..
