C6 ZR! is an awesome car. I thought about picking up a used one. After seeing the C7, and being shown all the new features, i made the decision the technology was definitely years ahead of the previous generation. I came out of a 2013 Z06. I'm not going to say the C7 want ever have problems but the "Valve dropping" finally got to me. Began research on the ZR1 and it appears it also may be included. Now it's a cooling issue and the pcv system. As I understand, the "Catch can" will solve the crankcase ventilation issue. As for overheating, I'm not tracking the car. So I'm not worried about that one.

Overall, my opinion is the ride is superior, the interior is outstanding, the body lines are awesome, the LED's are so cool, etc. I could go on and on. Both nice cars. Both Corvettes! What's impressive is every automaker compares their car to the Z06 or ZR1. So obviously, the benchmark has been set and is still the standard by which they measure.

Why is it so hard to believe that a car with 12 less horsepower, less weight, and better aero wins a race? It's a drivers race every time.

I deleted my remark. That video did not look like much of a race, or the losing z06 driver either had a problem or can't drive.

Let's see a video z06/zr1, first one to 205 mph wins.. :-)

The ZR1 definitely wins the ugly race. Car is so dated looking now. Great car, but that interior...pass.

Everyone knows the ZR1 wins on the top end.. But look at the video closely .. It's no way the the ZR1 walks away like that ... Not even from a C6 Z06, plus GM wasn't trying to make a street car out of the 2015 or 2016 Z06, if they did all they would have to do is take the Aero package completely off ..!!! then race in a straight line it would be a closer race passed 150mph, but anything under 150mph, aero or not Z06 wins ...!! Only If they both are stock...

C7 Z06 stage 1 with it's mild front splitter and mild rear spoiler has the same aero drag as the C6 ZR1. .35 Cd(according to Tadge) as the C6 ZR1(also .35 Cd according to GM).

Putting the C7 Z06 stage 1 up against a C6 ZR1 should be a fair matchup, and not require removal of the C7 Z06's front splitter and rear spoiler to "even" them up.

Yet the ZR1 hits 205 MPH. What is the top speed of the stage 1 C7 Z06?

PS- The C7 Stingray does not have the front splitter/rear spoiler/wide tires, etc that increases the aero drag, that a C7 Z06 or the C6 ZR1 has, yet Hennessey was only able to hit 200 MPH in a C7 Stingray with a supercharger(600 HP) plus a 100 shot of giggle gas(700HP total).

Somewhere there is a formula for how much more power is needed to overcome wind resistance as speed increases. It would be nice to see the differences between a base aero ZO6 versus a ZO7 equipped car starting at 100 MPH and taking it from there.

Neither car is perfect. Newer is usually better, as it should be. Bottom line is that they are both great cars.

People please look at the video back on page 1, the point I'm making is that in the video it's no way the ZR1 walks away from a C7 Z06 like that..!!! And it wouldn't and can't walk away even a C6 Z06 like that ...0-150mph the 2015/2016 Z06 is going to win period ... If they go 150mph to top speed ZR1 wins, with out the Aero the top end speed of the 2015/2016 Z06 will be closer to the ZR1, but since the ZR1 SC is made to perform at higher RPM's with its bigger blower, the edge will still go to the ZR1 on top end speed, on a straight away, now put them on a track the Z06 will beat the holy sh*t out of the ZR1, bc that's what it was made to do, look at the ring ZR1 7:19, C6 Z06 7:22, ZR1 133hp advantage gets 3. more, now look at smaller tracks With shorter straights and more curves, C6 or C7 Z06, Wins and the C7 Z06 not only wins it destroys the ZR1 ...now
