Beautiful z. Congrats on the purchase. I used to have porsches until I drifted through a corner in a neutral handling 84 corvette...that was in 1983. That was the end of having a car that was not neutral at the limit.

Btw, there are too many Porsche nut huggers on this forum! The GT3 is a great handling car, but it's not any ultimate machine! I would not take a 911 over a Corvette regardless of the price!!

wow thanks.. glad i cement this community ! lmfaooo the back story is this I had the original 991GT3 they had major engine issues my car was taken back by porsche and said it be gone minimum 4 months, i would then have a car with non original motor 30k in diminished value and almost 1 model year old... I put 4000 fun miles on her, I was given full expense back taxes tags, clear, bra & exhaust. I was to take delivery on another one same day i saw this car, bottom line i have had 9 GT3's 2 GT3 RS several turbos 430, 360 two GT3 cup cars, Widebody Unvined lwt M3 & Ford Gt. The new Corvette is huge value for the dollar its fun around town in track mode conference calls in comfort mode. I can by an M3 =A5 for the difference in money,
I will track it as well i have been a national instructor for Porsche Bmw Mazda Ferrari for many years. i thought id give american engineering a chance see how they did.. Hans is making another GT3 right now so its not limited and i have a GT4 on hold
So truth is i should of said i turned down the opportunity to buy another GT3 for this car.

I guess you're right, there are people that move from the Corvette down to a mustang or Camaro all the time. I will say that downgrading isn't exactly something most people can justify in their heads.
And financially speaking, trading in the GT3 for a Corvette is like selling off your Walmart stock for Bear Stearns in mid-2007. But hey, plastic spats, poorly fitted leather, slower around a track and on the strip, and legendary GM reliability are all worth it. You people are absolutely senile (bad choice of words considering the average age here?).

The trolling here intrigues me. Out of curiosity, I reviewed many of the past posts from Dethred. Sadly, he uses the same baiting tactics over and over. He baits people until he can make a comeback with "no wonder this forum gets trolled ... ", thus justifying his petty little larcenies. Fascinating.
Now I sort of feel sorry for the guy.
Back on topic, I admit to having owned many Porsches over the years, and have actively raced some pure Porsche race cars. My favorite was a GT3 RS that was a backup car for a Le Mans team. We then acquired a cheater engine used in the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. After all that prep, the car was nice, but just didn't have the soul of a tough American-based, badass car. Sometimes you want finesse, other times you want something more alive, more brutal. Corvette is the answer for me.
Ultimately, I wonder why some men are so concerned with the tastes and choices of other men? Why do Dethred, Derstig, etc., feel such emotion over my decisions? My girlfriend might care about me this way, but why does another man care about me this way? Why?

Nice Z, OP.
The fact that the 991 GT3 is not available in stick just kills it for me. If money were no object, I'd take a 997.2 GT3 RS over the new Z...and the 997 GT3 RS 4.0 is my absolute dream machine.
That said, I cannot justify paying the price premium for even the cheapest GT3 over the C7Z.
