Well, just under 2000 miles and it happened. Was driving down a major 4 lane when I came over a rise too see a skateboarder in the middle of my lane. When he saw me he fell off the board. I swerved to the left just in time to miss him, but I hit the skateboard!

Nearly scared the crap out of me. Damage appears to be limited to the splitter, which is ironic as I already have another one in shipment. Crap!

Car handled great and stopped on a dime. I'm glad that I hadn't lowered the car yet.

At least you missed the kid. That would have done more damage to your car. Well and the kid but we need the Darwin effect so that would have been OK.

As sad as the story ended with a broken splitter the likely alternative would have been disastrous. Glad everything worked out and good job avoiding him.

No kidding. I would have been all over that moron like a fly on s..t. He or Mom and Dad would be buying me a new splitter.

He took off running as I came to a stop. I couldn't catch him. He appeared to be in his mid to late teens. I guess i'm getting old. Thank goodness my reflexes are still good! A closer look this morning shows a crack on the bottom side of the splitter and a scuff mark on top. No other damage. Lucky, I guess.

Dxmn kids! I would have taken his skateboard and pulled a line out of Hot Tube Time Machine (part 1).... but instead of bag, say skateboard..."Your F'n skateboard's mine now!"

With that just shipping yesterday, I opened this dreading the damage was worse. Glad all is OK! Kids lucky you weren't driving a Hummer

Scary stuff, i bet there were some nightmares last night. It sucks that you need to get the repairs done, but thank God nothing worse.
