Default GM CEO Set to Take Delivery of New Corvette Z06

What kind of car do you order if you’re the head of General Motors? A brand new Corvette Z06, but of course.

I would guess that EVERYTHING on that car was checked twice. That car will have no rattles and panel fit and paint will be perfect. As it was being built I am sure everybody knew where this car would end up.

I would bet its the same as any other C7Z vert to roll off the line.

GM makes its money by selling in volume, not by hand polishing their their vehicles to look 'perfect'. If you have $79K and want a perfect car.. your best bet is a 325hp Porsche Cayman.

If you $79K and want a 650hp/650tq monster that will straight up out perform any other showroom stock vehicle under the $300,000 mark.. then get the C7Z06. Going faster than everything else is what it was designed to do.

She will have the car for 6 months and will just drive it to work. The likelihood of it overheating is zero.

The Cayman is an awesome handling car just like the C7 Z06. The only slight difference between the two, hardly worth mentioning, is the Z06 has TWICE the horsepower and torque of the Cayman. The Cayman is a Por sha however. That is worth something. Isn't it.

I would take you up on that bet. I would say someone walked that car through the build process and then it received additional inspection and prep.

It is common practice in the automotive industry. It's not that the CEO demands it. It's just in the plant managers best interest that the CEO gets the best car his plant can produce.

Man, your excuses for GM are spot on.

They'll never improve a thing if they can have people making excuses.

It is a $80-100k toy, it should be flawless.

Apparently she wanted the quickest car GM ever made. That would be the "slushbox".

Default Z07 and Stage 1

my understanding these two packages cannot exist on the same Z06, looks like a Stage 1, only because the monoblock is installed, high spoiler, side rocker extentions and front splitter, all yet to be installed. If i am incorrect, please advise. tc

Not a chance in hell.

The work we used to put into prepping vehicles that went to execs was nuts.

I had a 2013 Cayman. In the dealer for initial fixes right after purchase. Wasn't better then my 2015 Corvette, just different.

In the plant certain vehicles (usually random) are tagged for quality audit. These are followed throughout the build process and receive special attention.
This audit can be done on any vin if you have connections.
This was done on my car and I'm sure at least on that car.
I was nervous about mine after hearing all of the complaints on this forum. I have had it for a month now and not one complaint.

I'm thinking this isn't a random audit for Mary's car. Don't know for sure- just a hunch ;-)
