They showed a video of the GS going around the Car and Driver Lightning Lap not an official time until Car and Driver makes the run but it was around 2:45 I believe. They also mention running the Z06 around the track and beating Car and Drivers time by like 3 seconds if I heard right...

When do you hear guys spouting off "ring times" when they talk about sports cars. There are a very small number of people in this world who give a crap about "ring times".

But be honest if the Z06 set a blitering time and it was released you would be proud that your car ran that time and that people were giving it huge props. If you deny this you are lying. It's all bragging rights because how many guys would ever duplicate that time driving their own cars? ZEROOOOO!!

None the less when Chevy introduces their new Z06 and dubs it the most capable track Corvette ever and even has a pic of the ring right next to the car and then never releases a time, lol you have to admit that's a swing and a miss from Chevy. That said I love the Z06 and the ring thing wouldn't stop me from buying one. I just prefer the Stingray body with a Centri kit

Oh absolutely, a favorable time would be very nice to see indeed but would not be a make or break factor for myself. I bought the car without knowing what it can do at the "ring" as tens of thousands of others have done also. I think some get a little carried away with a 5 or 10 second delta between various cars when a lap takes 7 or 8 minutes. Number one you are not really going to feel that difference and number two being that of test variability(track conditions, environmental factors, driver variability, etc.)

All I know is, that's DEFINITELY a Nurburgring logo under the taillight.

Toyota did a Nurburgring edition LFA...they altered the aero, added like 10hp, changed some suspension settings and some small things that equaled a lot of time. I could see an addition of some cooling parts, maybe some tweaks.

All I know is...some kind of debacle happened here and I guess we'll never know what it was.
