On the track? Please link to video and PDR data.

A8. Yes it will overheat, although manual shifting and sticking to 8/10ths keeps it plenty fun and capable.

There is no question that GM made a calculated decision and a small minority of us will be bummed to one degree or another. Put me in the "mildly bummed" camp.

Yes, I have overheated. On June 20, I overheated after only 17 minutes on track at the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, IL. Conditions were 73 degrees and cloudy. I was shifting my A8 manually, targeting 6,000 rpm as my shift point. Car had approximately 2,200 miles on it at the time. Was running 15w50 oil and the differential fluids had been changed at 1,500 miles as recommended in the manual. I have stage 2 aero on my Z06.

I did take my car to my local Chevy dealer afterward and provided them copies of my PDR video and data to create a service record. I do not know if they actually looked at the data.

But your car is not overheating on the track, right?

Do you you have video? Go-Pro? Anything? We can look at the ambient temp in the days you were driving and compare to your lap times.

Some people have managed to get pretty nice days in despite driving hard and 90 plus weather. It's nice to see what is possible.

No video Sorry. When I'm there, its to have fun, drive and enjoy the car, not worry about video tapping it.

My A8 ran 195 all day and it's 95 out. I don't care about 10/10ths on a road course, so can't comment on that.

Well...this can be a very complex debate so to speak. Without dissecting and/or agreeing/disagreeing, I'll simply add that centri's have the advantage of better intercooling to gain charge density. The roots system attempts to absorb that heat into the cooling system, then vent it through the radiator, while centri's evacuate that through the intercooler. There are certainly compressor efficiency factors to consider, but without seeing a compressor map for either, that's hard to say I suppose.

In the end, I think centri's are certainly the middle ground between turbo's and roots....they work.

I feel like it's affecting a lot more people then 1 or 2% Seems like to me GM needs to step up.
And how many more owners are not on the forums?

Well that's nice, but as I stated, I need to hear from the performance guys who drive hard n track, as they were designed to do. FYI nobody has ever. Reported overheating on street driving.

Why do you need to hear more? Here are your last four threads:

- PLEASE chime in if you have overheated
- Say all you want how great new zo6 is but
- I want some communication from GM!! Overheating issue
- Road Course Cooling Solution
....and on and on and on...

Add some value in between insulting people, calling them idiots, and so on. Be nice. I didn't pick on your grammar, so play nice with the other kids.

not for nothing but the regular C7s are also experiencing overheating problems in normal driving so food for thought for the naysayers

He probably won't stop until he finds his Corvette soul mate that has all the exact same problems and views as he does with his Corvette

Sorry Dabigsnake, probably isn't going to happen
