Then you didn't try hard enough I've had my dads both C5Z and C6Z overheat couple of times on me.

Isn't 18-55 PSI oil pressure a little low under race conditions? Interested to know.

That is disappointing if true.

However, I am still worried since we are in winter and overheating after a lap might impact all the non pro driver that we are in summer time. What will happen when simply stock in traffic jam or trying to have fun in a hot day?

Wait and see...

Sometimes when you can't complete a single BTG lap @ Nurburgring in a C6Z because its overheating... You know it's time for some upgrades.

That cannot be right, can it?

Dave, any specific reason why your using both ChrisN123 and DaveN007 to get this overheating point across? We all know that you are "The Most Interesting Man In The World Of Storage"

JESUS! 302 oil temp? BMW and Porsche's oil temperature gauges do not even have a range that covers 302 degrees!

Before taking delivery of my new Z06, I asked my salesman to check if adding an aftermarket radiator and spacers between the supercharger and engine block would impact my warranty. I received an e-mail back from the head of the dealer's service department that installing those items would not impact the warranty so long as they did the install.

Probably not at 302 degrees!!! The oil probably has the viscosity of alcohol at that temperature.

From an article I read, Mobil 1 was tested to start thermal breakdown at 265 degrees.

Well, 99% of the street cars in the world will overheat at the racetrack, be they American, European, or Asian. I've seen many cars running hot at Road Atlanta, Roebling, and Barber, of all makes. I had just hoped this car, at least in Z07 guise, would not overheat because this was a known issue with the C5 and C6 Zs and I had hoped Chevy would address it, like they have done with many other issues.

We'll just have to wait for the aftermarket to catch up like we did with the C5 and C6 Z cars.

I am tired of beating this horse, so I will check out on this issue. It really isn't that big a deal. As the saying goes now, "it is what it is...." The C7Z is still a fantastic car....

Ouch!!!

262 coolant and 302 oil temp in 5 laps at Laguna in 80F temps is just unacceptable.

I mean the car has oil coolers on top of oil coolers in it ! wtf
Have you looked at the size of the coolers? They are way to small. The aftermarket will solve this with larger coolers and additional oil capacities and aftermarket radiator. Great car but gm missed the boat on cooling capacity for track use...that is obvious. I do not expect significant changes in the next model years as far as the overheating issues are concerned. The car is selling well and most owners are not tracking car so if you are gm why change.
