I make it a habit when I pull my C7 into the garage I always pop the hood and open it to let the heat out. LT4's have a lot of heat soak mainly because of the supercharger.

This car is a disaster in that it doesn't come with a lifetime supply of free Michelins.

Car is a blast to drive.

Total disaster.

I agree with the OP. I grabbed my exhaust tips after a spirited drive and they were hot. WTF?

Now that we have been "mega merged" again let me make it clear I am responding to this sub-thread in the mega-heativerse:

I think at most dealerships no matter how explicitly you explain issues to the service writer what the service writer conveys to the tech is similar to how the OP has explained the issue to us

This is why I always attach a written note to the tech inside my cars to make sure the problem isn't translated into "gibberish" by the service writer.

Uh, I would believe that after a spirited run a hot exhaust is quite common. If you think the tips get hot, check out the temps of the exhaust manifolds.

It's difficult to follow this thread. Has anyone found a fix yet for the overheating on track?

I installed a Dewitt radiator, thermal plates, intercooler/tank and still overheat after 3 laps at Streets of Willow. My solution was I bought a new Caymen GTS for track days and use my A8 Z06/07 for street use. I'm VERY disappointed with GM any myself for believing this was a track ready car. This is my first and last corvette I'll ever own. I'm patiently waiting for an intelligent fix or GM to say its normal to overheat in 3 laps. I like the the car but was told it's something that is not.

I'm with you. Luckily I have a back up. I'm also looking in to other cars as well. Gt4 or buy back my old RUF RGT for track use. Has Dewitt finished with the stage 2 radiator and oil cooler?

IMO the real fix can only come from GM or possibly Callaway via heavy duty engineering and execution. Swapping out parts for aftermarket or adding a vent here and there is all band aid fixes that potentially could endanger your warranty.

Warranty an overheating track car that was designed for.. The track. Personally I'd stroke it build a high rpm big bore na solid roller. Burn that blower.or run it over . Would make a viral YouTube video.

Default Overheating GM - Service bulletin..

I have a A8 Z07 and I can have the engine to overheat within a couple of laps (and I leave in Canada where the summers are warm). If I switch to manual paddles, it is the power steering that will overheat... This is very frustrating. So I call my dealer to report the issues, and this is the note I got back:

Does the US dealers have the same bulletin? Anyway, it seems that GM is telling us to shut-up!

Sorry if it is a repost but I couldn't find it in this thread...
