My '16 Z06 is built!
just got a call from the dealer and confirmed that my Torch Red Z06, A8 coupe is built and at event code 4000 - now the wait for release and ship to St Louis. Any chance I'll see this car for the 4th of July weekend?

That's my thinking as well - maybe by the middle of July if I'm lucky. But the dealer thinks it will show up by middle of next week. I don't believe him but I haven't believed him since he called me out of the blue on May 19 with an allocation so maybe he can be right one more time! At least it's one more surprise to hope for!

I agree with Speednet. The 2016 is a "new" car launch by GM QC protocol. There will be a ~2 week hold for the early cars. You will likely see a 4B00 bayed status for a while as well. It's been this way for the C7 '14, '15, and Z06. It's also likely some cars produced 2 weeks from now will hit dealers before the early ones. There are probably at least 100+ threads on this in the C7 area for all 3 of the "launches" I listed. The same questions come up again and again because of the frustrations/confusion around the launch timings and QC hold mostly from new buyers. And I'm sure it will happen again for 2017...
Be patient, the car will arrive and it will be awesome!
The remainder of the '15 will flow out as normal, meaning in a few days of build. The 2016 won't go out for a while.

Do you have the updated pricing? How have they handled it? I'm seriously considering ordering a 16 A8 and trade/sell my current 15 M6.

No pricing or paperwork as if today. They are going to forward me all the paperwork including price as soon as it's available but who knows when that will be.

Does your car get shipped from the factory by truck or train? That makes a huge difference as to when you will receive your car. If by truck it will probably be 4-5 days after release. If by train it will probably be 4 weeks or so.

I believe there is a 2 week QC hold on ALL Corvettes. At the NCM it was explained that if a problem was discovered they could deal with the cars at the plant.

Just my $0.02 worth, but no freakin' way.
The 2 (or more ) week QC period only applies to ALL vettes at the beginning of the model year or the launch of a new model, such as the A8 Z06 last year. For Museum Delivery, it always applies, and the Museum website clearly states delivery date will be at least two weeks after Offline (build) date.

After initial launch QC quarantine time the cars will leave the plant in as little as a day. All NCM however cars get a 2 week hold no matter what apparently. This is different than dealership bound cars. This has also caused confusion.
All 2015 cars being current MY production are shipped ASAP based only on availability of transport coordination. The 2016 will see the same initial QC general hold unless GM has changed their policy and it would be different than any C7 launch to date.

Congrats! My 2016 TR Z06 Z07 A8 Coupe was also completed yesterday. Build was on 18 & 22 Jun. Received a picture yesterday from NCM of my completed Z06 -- unfortunately didn't see yours sitting next to it, but it must be very close.... As stated by others here and the NCM to me, 2016 will be on QC hold for 3-4 weeks, so I don't expect to see it delivered until the end of Jul.

As I said in post 4, the 2 week QC hold applies to all model year or model launches. This held true for 2014 C7, 2015 C7, and 2015 Z06. I'm sure the C6 folks may have seen the same. This is a GM thing. Please search and read the many threads if you don't believe me.

My 2009 C6 Z06(VIN 011xx) was also built later in June of 2008(7th or 8th day of 2009 production) and shipping was held up because of the planned early July plant shutdown. It arrived at the dealership(Springfield, MO) on July 25, 2008 and I was driving it on July 28, 2008.
Neither cars were held at the factory for a two week "quality hold" nor were the other 2009 C6's that were on the transporters carrying both my friend's C6 Z06 or my C6 Z06.
