OFFICIAL Callaway C7 Z06 Owners Thread
Looks like Callaway is shipping out the first of the 757 hp Zs. I looked and didn't see a thread - so let's have an official Callaway C7 Z06 owners thread.
So post up who's in.
And definitely post up when you get your Callaway - will be fun to see these hit the ground and owners have a chance to explore them.
Also good to make connections with people who have them.

Delivered.
I spent about an hour driving it after taking delivery, then I had to get back to my business. I'll post a more complete review in a couple days after I've had some more seat time.
But - initial impressions: Wow. As in Holy Crap, Wow. This is how these cars should have been as factory original. Speaking of that, I am very impressed with just how factory this package appears to be. Exceedingly well done and presented. Everything looks as if it was factory original, and frankly it should have been. That is one of the very first things you notice about the car.
Other things immediately noticed:
On initial start-up. Damn! This is what these cars should sound like. The all new Callaway exhaust is exemplary. I've had a previous Callaway car, so I'm very familiar with their prior system. In fact, I liked the prior system so much, I had Chris and Co. whip up a unit for my ZR which I still have. I really like the darker, richer tone, more volume and no drone than what the factory system provides. When Chris told me the set-up on the new Z06 was an all-new system, I was a little nervous. I shouldn't have been. Chris, after all, knows pretty well what I like, and he assured me I'd be blown away with the new system. And I am. Wow, this thing sounds fantastic. Much better even than their prior system, and I can confirm there is no drone with this unit. Fabulous exhaust. If anybody has their car at Callaway, or are contemplating sending theirs soon and are on the fence about whether to get the exhaust, . . . DO IT. It simply a slam dunk, no-brainer, and makes the factory NPP system seem like crap.
Second immediately noticed item. Throttle response. Perhaps Tadge should drive one of these and recognize just how sloppy and unresponsive the factory throttle response is. Mine is an M7 car, and I had basically learned how to drive around that. But, no need to do so anymore. This throttle is dead-on like it should be. Crisp, clean, linear and sharp.
Next. The shifter. I opted for this largely on a whim, and in part based upon a CF member's feedback that after driving a Callaway with their shifter, he liked it even better than the MGW unit he was familiar with. So I decided what the heck. Glad I did. What a great unit, and it pairs seamlessly with the active rev match. Might have been a whim, but very glad I opted for that.
Next. Power - linear, seamless, everywhere power, tied in quite well with the factory systems. Obviously I will be exploring this more, but initial reaction is this is one very, very stout beast. To say its power level is noticeable over the stock configuration is simply an understatement.
I'll get some more seat time and post up a more complete review. I'll also try to get a vid/sound clip of that fabulous exhaust. I've never posted a sound clip before, so if I can't figure it out, I'm sure my kids can show me.
Chris - please relay to the boys at the shop, Job Well Done.

My wife isn't a car person - she didn't go with me on my delivery either. She just muttered something about boys and their toys. . .

May be dependent on distance. I honestly don't know if that is case or not. You might PM Chris and ask. Where I'm located it'll be $1500 each way via Plycar enclosed truck.

Got Boost?!
I can't wait to see come pics and videos of running these bad boys! Any one here plan to take it to the 1/4 mile or road track with PDR video? Even a nice open pull to see the acceleration would be nice =)

I have done a LOT of HP corvette builds and even more auto Trans builds, my math/bench racing etc. gives me an idea of what a Callaway Z would run. I dare not say here what I think it will run because I don't want this thread to turn to ****.

I'm a Texas Mile junkie and regularly run that event, and mine will get the chance to use every single hp and lb ft it can make. Over and over. LOL.
With trucks rolling out from Callaway with Zs to deliver, we've got to be only a few days from the first folks getting these.

Keeping the stock mufflers, but at some point will do cat less long tubes, meth, pulley, and tune. Going to avoid the cam change for the first time in 30 years and still get the numbers I want.
