Default iPod connectivity issues?

Just got my '16 yesterday up near San Francisco.
I listen to audio books when traveling. It seems to make things go by faster.
I plug in my Ipod Nano at the dealership and the book comes up on the screen but will not play. The buttons do nothing.
I ended up shutting the car off and let everything reset. OK, now it seems to work.
I stopped a couple of hours down the road for lunch and when I got back in the car it does not even recognize the Ipod. The only media that shows up is my phone and "aux. in" which is even plugged in. I tried all 3 USB ports.
I've driven a lot of C7s without any issues.
Anyone have anything similar happen? I'm wondering if the '16 is different because of the "Apple Play" that is supposed to be included.
The book was a murder / mystery / thriller that was right at a good part! It ruined the last half of my trip.

Hit or miss. I find disconnecting the able then reconnecting fixes it for me. That is with the car running.

My last Z06 did that as well. All I had to do was unplug it and insert it again.

Plugging and unplugging doesn't work for me. It still doesn't recognize it this morning.
I have 3 Ipods. I'll try the others and see.
This sucks. I recently sold my 2014 Jeep SRT because the Ipod player was pissing me off.

Andy, have you tried connecting it through the Bluetooth? I had a guy awhile back suggest that.
I don't recall the specifics, and he said that it still could be used with the steering wheel controls.

Might be worth a try.

I guess that the problem with that would be that my phone is connected via Bluetooth. I'm pretty sure it will only allow one device at a time.
I'm going to take it to the dealer but I hate to give it up after only driving it a day.
Thanks
