And The Build Begins!
Started the teardown yesterday afternoon. Heads off, cradle out, cam swapped, oil pan and timing cover back on in about 8 hours.
Heads are being machined to accept an LT1 intake manifold, a little porting and have the BTR springs installed.
The cam is a "baby" 220-230 -117 so as not to upset drivability and also to work with the stock converter. The cam change is mostly for the larger fuel pump lobe anyway.
LS7 lifters and trays are installed along with the Katech valley cover.
American racing 2" headers are being coated prior to install.
The Eaton Supercharger is no more. An A&A System with a YSi head unit will be replacing it.
An Alky Control system is being added to cool things down and add some much needed Octane.
I have a Halltech intake on it so I'm going to cut off the MAF tube and remake it with 4" aluminum tube to adapt to the YSi.
I'm thinking we should be around 18 # boost, but that is a guess at this point. Should make some serious power.
Looking forward to hearing that "Big Bubba" Blowoff valve scare some unwary people.
Notice the brackets I made to hold the engine up when the cradle is removed? They make it very easy to work on the underside and front of the motor.
The last picture is a picture of my '14 C7 with my standard system on it just so you can see what it will look like (except for a much bigger head unit).

Going back together
We couldn't work on it at all yesterday. Customers come first!
Getting the heat exchanger, trans cooler, etc. out of the car took a lot of time. I think we'll relocate the trans cooler to where the heat exchanger was.
Evidently LT4 takes different valve springs than LT1 so I couldn't put the heads back on. Springs will be here Tuesday.
I wanted to make sure my regular C7 bracket would fit without issue so we just mocked it up. It looks like it will just be a standard C7 install from this point on.
So we have about two full days into it so far and I think we're over halfway there.
