Not crazy about the front spats but as the saying goes "leave well enough alone".

Default I love the tacked on black plastic comment.

I like the OP's idea. If for no other reason, spats on the rear wheel wells would protect the paint on the inside of the lip. My Z07's Cup2 tires were throwing road debris and blasting the inside of the lips of the rear fenders. I had Xpel wrapped around them to stop the damage.

Do I love tacked on black plastic? NOPE! But I'll take spats over road abrasives blasting body paint.

Be nice !

Also like the the “be nice” comment too!

I ordered my Z06 with matching paint of the inserts and rear valence. Having these items painted costs more than I spent on my oldest child’s 1st car, but don’t like the aftermarket look of two sided tape holding on black plastic pieces. Probably for the same reason I don’t like the blacked out (paint my wheels with a rattle can) look.

On to my point...
Anyone find an oem look rear fender flare to match the front? Would like to know if there are more options than I have found that were made for this and how they worked out?

Instead of just removing the ugly AF front slats you add another set of ugly AF rear spats.

pffft, I already have major gap (bumper to fender to plastic flare) with the cheap snap in/double sided tape fender flares. It may actually look better with the plastic flares removed.

Default Tough crowd

So most of the “tough” crowd looks to be $15k invested C5 automatic transmission base model owners? No one is going to take a $90k sports car with 1” or more of tire outside the wheel well and just start ripping off the plastic trim that protects the paint! Where do you stop? Want to rip the front clip off while you’re at it? I had a C3 with rock chips all the way into the fiberglass front and rear. It was a beautiful machine, but chunks of red missing along the fenders all the way up the doors was very disheartening. This is not something I want to relive on a car that is 9 times as expensive. So no! I’m not removing the “SPATS.” The forum is a construct to support other corvette owners and to discuss products that achieve a goal. I don’t understand the violently mad over what someone else wants to do to their car. Not your car! Theirs! Insight and suggestions are what this forum is about. You’re acting like mustang owners!

Here’s some new but extremely important information that many Stingray owners need to know before installing wheels that extend out an inch more then stock (OEM).

I put a set of wheels on my 17 Z51 with exactly the same height but they were a little over an inch further to the outside! I did not lower my body. The wheels were running fine, I had no issues except I did not like the look of my wheels sticking out an inch further then stock. So I ordered a set of the Z06 front wheel mouldings and I was going to follow zhopper05 lead and install on the rear quarter panel wheel openings!

I never got the chance to install the spats! After I got the MRC upgrade only did my wheels rub the quarter panel ...... they hit hard enough to crack them. My drivers side quarter panel now has 8 inches of cracking right thru the paint.

Yes yes yes, I've been saying this since the C7 first came out they need something like the C6 ZR1 had! for now what I've been doing is using carbon fiber wrap to protect the paint lip, I originally had it done in clear wrap but from all the rocks and debris hittingit, it turned yellow

Whoever designed that is a sad knockoff artist at best. That's embarrassing.
Reminds me of something you'd see on a Jeep Wrangler.
