Default Memory seat settings

I've programmed the memory on my seat and the only way I can get it to work is if I press and hold the button. Is there a way to have it set up so that when you open the door and the seat goes all the way back and when you press the ignition it goes to your setting?

I know it can be done, as mine works that way. You set the exit feature memory, then in personal settings set the exit feature. Then your memory for whatever key fob you are using. Try another fob if it does not work on memory one, as they are different, but not identified as that. It should move seat to your preset when you start engine.

It's a joke how difficult it is to get it to at least half work

Yeah,I thought it was me but apparently it is a problem for others as well. My C6 was so easy to set the driving and exit memories. This C7 is so far resisting every effort to retain any memory settings, particularly the exit function. If somebody has the touch please share how you have been successful.

On the C7's once you set your memory points, you need to have the electronic Parking brake on in order for memory to function correctly. Went thru the same ordeal until my Corvette tech told me about the parking brake.

No problems with mine. If I remember right, you need to do some settings on the nav/pdr screen.

Here it is...

Correct. Upon entering the car, you need to keep the brake on. The instant you release the brake the seat movement will stop. (Or take it out of P in an automatic.)

Yes.

On the menu: Settings > Vehicle > Comfort and Convenience > Easy Exit. Then choose what you want to have happen when you exit the vehicle.

On the menu: Settings > Vehicle > Comfort and Convenience > Auto Memory Recall. Then choose what you want to have happen when you enter the vehicle.

The parking brake does not have to be set for the A8.

Most likely cause of memory seat issues are wrong settings in the Menus, wrong key fob, or memory setting is set at one of the limit switches.

Correct. When you take it out of P (auto) or release brake (manual) any automatic memory recall movement stops and must be manually restarted.

FYI. The remotes are marked 1 & 2 on the cap of the key once you remove it. Look real close at the underside of the cap

I don't think that number corresponds to the which key fob it is. For example... both of mine are marked #2.

Mine don't have any markings so I'll have to mark which is which. I too struggled with memory with Fob #1 but I finally got mine to work with "Fob2 / Driver2". I think I was just pushing the buttons the wrong way, and the car was not started or in park the first time I tried it. It is an A8.

For success, I:

Verified which fob it was (driver 2 in this case)
started the car
engaged park
set seat and wheel as I wanted
tapped mem, got a beep, then #2 button, and got 2 beeps to confirm.
The I went into vehicle settings to set up my comfort exit and driver preference options.

Here's an informative video from way back (Stingray, but similar, only difference is with 2015 Z06, instead of pushing both seat-memory and seat position button 1 or 2 at the same time, you push seat memory first, get one beep, then push 1 or 2, and get 2 beeps).

How to set seat memory:

I started a Z06 file back in Jan 2014. Every time I came or come across a gem of info, whether Halltech install videos, oil bulletins or whatever, I copied the post URL and entered it in the file. Beats the hell out of searching for something "I remember seeing something about this, but can't remember where....".

Hi -- this was very helpful. Reset everything today. However, when I get back in the car, the seat resets to position 2 (my wife), not position 1 (mine). How do I set it so it resets to my position? Thanks. Frank

Sorry, don't see the marking on either of my fobs. Can you take a picture and post it? Thanks. Frank
