The fan is a Z06 unit. The radiator however...

The second radiator kit looks like a step in the right direction for solving the cooling, except it isn't available for the A8 guys. Why is only available for M7 cars?

We'll see. The A8 and M7 radiators are the same.
The LG and other AM rads also do not appear to be transmission specific. Considering the trans cooler is separate, not sure why they would be.
Perhaps GM only validated it on M7 cars.

Or they want people with auto's/considering buying auto to stop tracking them and/or considering them as a track option due to the overheating/failure issues that seem to be showing themselves a little more here and there. I am thinkin GM doesnt' wanna lose their *** on tranny warranty claims.

Interesting. I wonder what they are going to charge for this update.

Front brake cooling kit is a step in the right direction, as well.

I expect the real reason why it isn't offered for A8 cars is the secondary radiator likely sits where the front automatic transmission cooler is mounted. We will see when they release more details.

Agreed. Adding the secondary plus an aftermarket radiator would probably make a big difference. There's an "ask Tadge" about the transmission cooler and he says the area moves a lot of air despite being closed from the bottom.

Yeah, I recalled someone in one of the track threads proposing this question in "ask Tadge", as that location seemed possible for a secondary rad....forget who asked the question. Tadge answered that this kit was in the works and it was possible....

I just like to keep the pot swirlin sometimes for fun...

The release is a little confusing the:

Corvette Secondary Radiator Kit
This kit adds cooling capability to manual transmission Corvettes (base Stingray, Z51 and Z06). The engine coolant temperatures are lowered 25 degrees F along with lowering engine oil temperatures 15 degrees F. The addition of the Z06 grille further enhances the cooling performance of this kit.

... is of course applicable to M7 Z06s.

But the "Corvette Z06 600-Watt Radiator Fan" reads like an upgrade for the Stingray and something that the Z06 already has. In fact pretty much all of the things listed there are to make Stingrays look and have some of the features of the Z06.

Can anyone confirm if we do or don't already have a 600w rad fan?

*The installation and operation of these components or replacement engines in new vehicles is intended for off-road operation only. See dealer for coverage information.

Sounds to me like they may want to play warranty shenanigans if you use this stuff. Guess we'll see.

Offering Z06 parts on the Stingray!. To me it means there is a new corvette version in the way!

Based upon everything I can find, this is the standard Z06 fan.

Here's a link from Jegs that states that:

http://www.jegs.com/i/Chevrolet-Perf...76530/10002/-1

That said, the part number is not the same as the standard Z06 part number, according to parts sites online.

The secondary radiator should be a big deal though.

The big downside is that it's only for M7 guys. Only a few M7 guys are overheating on here, so not a home run.

M7 here. When can we expect this to go live so that the dealers can replace this under warranty?

I have never experienced any overheating issues, but it would be nice to have this fix so that I never will.
