I replaced mine on my 2015. Put the Super Sports on it. Daily driver and a few track days a year. The Super Sports work fine both ways for me.

Replaced mine with the SS pilots. Only trouble is, most shops can't get the bead to seat. 2 chevy dealers failed as did discount tire, america's tire and tire pros. Ended up with 3 bent wheels, 1 wheel face damaged and the last place tore a new tire at the bead and claimed it was a Michelin defect.

Default Just replaced mine...with the Super Sports

...finding installers are tough. Costco ended up taking mine to a specialty shop, having car overnight, and refunding installation charge. Chevy and Michelin need to figure this out.

Went with the PSS's and was very happy with them. Sounds like we drive our cars in similar ways.

Spend 6+ hours yesterday at a Discount Tire trying to get PSS's on my C6 Z06 with the Centennial Cup Wheels. They tried EVERYTHING and finally used a piece of nylon rope with plastic tape around the rope to seal the bead long enough for the tire to air up on the rim.

They invented a "NEW TOOL".

Default Had a nail last week

I was in and out of America's tire, in about 40 minutes. But they do have the Hunter Revolution tire machine, that makes this a lot easier.

This shop had a "no touch" Mack-Daddy machine but that didn't change the fact that the RF sidewalls are so stiff it would not air up.

For those of you who switched from the Cups to the SS's, what differences did you notice?

Have the tir shop plac the tires in a small closet with a space heater for about an hour or so, have the other tires dismounted and the rim prepped on the machine. Take the tires out one at a time an the wil mount. The tire will mount easier because the hard sidewalls will be much more playable and they will mount. Did this with a few sets after a buddy turned meon to it.

Gentlemen,

Please be advised that demount/mount is NOT the problem!

Inflating the tire after mounting is the problem.

As an OLD tire man, I'm just trying to keep the terminology correct; any tire shop (well, almost any) can mount these hard runflats,
but a lot have being having fits getting them to "take air".

Not trying to start a fight, just trying to keep things straight.

I think everyone knows by now that getting the bead to seat is the issue.

Where have you been?
