Time of year...there have to be 4-5 threads in the last few weeks of people learning first hand why the car's are so contentious at lower temperatures. The tires don't stick and break lose far too soon. The car is flat out dangerous for those not used to the weather and rear wheel drive. Being from the Great White North, weather change with the Vette is easily identifiable as the car breaks loose on typical turns that it would not a few weeks prior. Passing is very similar. Down South...that 38-40 Degree mark is key.

I don't think the car is unsafe. The tires are summer tires and the car has 650 hp. If we put it in valet mode it wouldn't hurt us. Once the temp drops we need to be a lot more careful or put winter tires on. I drove mine last weekend and it didn't take much to break the rear end loose at pretty much any speed. I'm sure if I pushed it in the turns I would have ended up in the weeds. It's not very forgiving this time of year.

Scraping the splitter.
Enzom previously had a 991 TT, to him, the car is "unsafe" because the Porsche is just so stable and confidence inspiring. Not that it's a bad thing, it's just that seeing his frame of reference (I also have a 991 TT), the RWD, high hp/tq Z06 is not as forgiving.
Even in the warm Florida weather, I've had my car blow off the tires and step out a bit. I imagine in New Jersey, it would be VERY pronounced.

Ok - Unsafe to drive with gusto. Sure you can cruise along at 60 mph, but if you downshift one gear lower than intended with the A8, hang on. And don't forget evasive maneuvers or panic stops on rock hard slippery PSC2s. I'm sure they bite like crazy when it's over 70 degrees. But on a 35 degree day, not exactly what you want. Doesn't surprise me at all to read these stories. Heck, my rear swung out just pulling out of the dealership parking lot when I picked it up. But now I know what I have, so when I switch back to PSC2s in April, I will be warned. Be safe

Ever try the "w" in settings? Use it all the time in rain and cold temps.
I'm pretty sure it stands for "weather"
Don't leave home without it....
