White letter tires-Yah or No way?
I see Vettes with these race tire lettering kits on them and think they look awesome but I am also concerned that they may be a bit on the cheesy size. Opinions are like *******s but what does the group think? I think they would look great on my AW car but don't want to have buyers remorse and be stuck with glued up $2000 tires. Opinions please!

White letter tires are SO '70's.
I always got a kick out the off brand white letter tires people used to run that had BIG GOOBERS or such on the sides of them.
Ant tires I buy that ahve white letters, get mounted so only whoever changes the oil, can see the letters.
My opinion, anyway.

Tire and wheel fashion come and go. Half the enthusiasts think black wheels make a vette beautiful and the other half think black wheels are the easiest way to make a vette look ugly( I'm in this camp). I liked white letter tires back in the day. Hey go for it. Maybe you'll start a trend.

There's a right way and a wrong way. Cars have to look a certain way to pull it off.
When all this goes awry is when the Corvette guy says, "well I like my letters this way and it's my car so".
The current "style" is to have the letters consume most of the sidewall, not be the letters like you'd see on BFG's or some old school muscle car bs. The current trend is taken from racing where the sponsors made their name clearly visible on the sidewall. So, the letters are large and sprayed or stuck on via special "decals"...they are not people painting in the lettering already on the tire...that's the "cheesy" way.
Google "Idlers RWB Porsche"...that's how it's supposed to look.

Quick lesson:
Gay:
Currently "Fashionable":
The disclaimer is...if your car is stock, stock ride height, you're basically saying "racecar" and nowhere near that. So, then you put yourself in the category of "ricer". White lettering like this is a FINISHING touch, NOT a starting point.
Notice how the mod starts to look awkward when it's the ONLY mod...
Also note, the majority of pics that are quickest/easiest to find that look cheesy are domestic car owners with no taste...

White lettering "contrasts" sufficiently to move our focus to the tire per se. Sports car owners try to make a statement, i.e., my car is special. If your statement is to show off tires, white lettering works, but if you want people to look at the car, not a good idea. Best

Simply put, if your car looks like a street going beast of a machine, you might pull it off. The mod is a finishing touch...and accessory to an overall design theme...not the CORE. If the letters on the tires are the only statement a car makes...well, that statement will be "RICER!".

Was thinking of putting the larger white letters on rears (Mickey Thompson)
Do I put smaller letters on front? Or leave them off?
Anyone know of any "site" or "place" that possibly Photoshop's them on so I can see what it looks like? Realize that's a stretch but you never know now a days.
Also If you get tired of them In a couple months, can you take them off without damaging tire? Thanks

I think it looks good on some cars, and it is the latest trend. There are a few white c7's with it done on the forum with pics around.

You have a car designed and engineered to attack a road course, repurposed to turn worse, brake worse and handle worse...and then you want to take Michelin away and put on Mickey Thompson...then announce it to the world.

I'm waiting on the white side wall to make a come back....
