The definitive Vitesse Throttle Controller review
#41
Thats exactly how it feels. I had German car with a sport button in the past. Initially I always used it until I realized there was more control without it and the Spirt wasn't actually making me any quicker. For me, a ported throttle body did wonders for helping the throttle lag issue.

While I never had a German car but, I do have a 2015 C7 and I was also very disappointed with the throttle lag. I live in canyon country and as a long time track racer I find that getting back on the accelerator following the apex is a critical part of handling. Before the Vitesse I always felt like I was a few fraction of a second behind getting power to the rear wheels. After installing the Vitesse, huge improvement in getting rid of that big lag. I use position 5 and that gives me a fine and timely control over the application of the power to the wheels.

Exactly. I uninstalled it recently as I found I wasn't using it at all. The biggest gripe was that, besides the fact it didn't fix the lag, once it's in a meaningful setting say 3 or higher you can feel the throttle going from 0 to 30 instantaneously and also the flip side coming off going from 30 to 0. So not only does it not do anything productive it gives you a jerky on off feeling making it seem as suddenly you don't know how to drive. Much like the throttle lag it's obvious that some people can feel this and some cannot. Others who have installed it also ended up leaving it on setting 0 [stock] for the same reason. It's a cheap fun toy for a week but then you realize it doesn't do anything and then you realize well this sucks. Your results may vary.

I purchased the Vitesse about a year and a half ago for the reasons already stated. I wasn't happy with it, so I opted for the TMTB. Very nice product and certainly did the job for me. I also have the aFe CAI, Corsa X pipe. Corsa extreme exhaust and quite a few other goodies that don't really affect the power, but more for the road course.
So after installing all of the other mods, I tried the Vitesse again and it began throwing codes and the car was running like crap.....no matter which button setting I used.
You want to get rid of the lag.... buy a Tony Mamo Throttle body. You will not be disappointed!!

I just installed the Vitesse throttle controller. It really transforms the pedal feel. I'm just deciding whether I want to rip up my center console to install it. I have it in Sport 5 and don't think I'll be changing it often.

This is how I mounted for now. Maybe I'll get the ***** to drill a hole if the gap in the trim bugs me.

no
it makes no permanent changes to your ECU/ factory tune
unless you leave it installed when you take it in for warranty work, which could raise a red flag so to speak

That's correct, it does not leave any trace on the ECU, just like a cold air intake or any other mod, once you remove it, everything goes back to stock.
