Default Stock vs aFe intake dyno numbers

On my 2016 Z06 A8 I installed an AFE Intake with the dry filter.

Stock on a dynojet my car made 562WHP and 612WTQ.

With just the AFE Intake my car made 593WHP and 654WTQ.
My tuner said that on my stock tune with just the afe intake it was running lean , it was knocking and pulling timing.

It is currently at the shop getting installed a 18% IW pulley, Dewitts gen 2 radiator, American Racing Catless longtube headers, flex fuel kit and will get tuned on E50.

I will post updates on the dyno and at the 1/4 track.

Excellent. Got any dyno sheets or screen shots with the Air Fuel Ratio?

Question, how did you get such an increase in #'s on the stock tune/AFE with knocking and pulling timing?

Yea, I'm waiting on my AFE. As soon as it comes, off to LMR for me to get it dialed in. I was going to have my buddy do it, but the more I read, I need a Vette specialist tuning my car.

You are lucky you have a Corvette specialist in Texas! Where I live, outside of Pittsburgh, I don't know of any and I'd be afraid to have any of the local "experts" touch a new Z06!

I tried the Halltech felt strong from the SOTP, went back to stock felt tired, sluggish? Installed the AFE feels the same as the Halltech This is from my Butt O Meter. Going in 2 weeks for a Dyno Tune from Jeremy Fasterproms.

old thread but very glad I found it. I have a 16 z06, in California with crappy 91 octane I baselined at 510, I had an AFE intake, Corsa performance NPP exhaust and supposedly a tune and only gains 35 wheel horsepower. I'm really starting to suspect at this point that I got ripped off in the car wasn't really tuned. I'm taking it down to a different shop to get a Dyno diagnostic to see what the hell was actually done to my car. The shop wants me to do e85 which I totally understand but I just feel like they completely held out and didn't put any effort which is not acceptable when I paid $1,100 including licensing fees for the tune.

My 15 auto baselined not much higher than that on 91 and it gained about the same from the AFE intake and tune. The biggest improvement was when I added the flexfuel and tuned it on E50. I would scan to see if everything looks right especially trims/timing/KR.

Something seems off. With a BMS drop-in filter, Tony Mamo PTB, AFE x-pipe, e85 kit, and a tune on e50, I dyno’d at 660 WHP after several baseline runs with ambient temps around 90. Who’s your tuner? There are only a handful of guys in the state that know what they’re doing.

I don't want to put anybody on blast publicly. Unless I confirm I got ripped off. My feeling is either lazy work or a little bit too much salesmanship and holding back to get me with another sale . Happy to do a private message with you though.

Just had an xpipe installed and got a dyno diagnostic, not a tune yet. Guy said it looks like I have a very lean tune and I'm cutting power around 5900-6000. He said his tuning style is more on the richer side than lean.

I'm going to do a griptec 2.3 pully, heat exchanger (hopefully keep her cooler so I'm not cutting power) and a re-tune. Parts ordered, probably in 2 weeks. I'll report back.
