The Callaway Powertrain Warranty is the only one of its kind, where the Callaway PT coverage supplements GM PT coverage which remains in-effect, unblocked. With any other, you are on your own, solely. Here are the specifics:

I bought my Z06/Z07 last year New Years Eve 2014. After one year and 5000 miles i took it to Callaway in Dec 2015. Haven't had a chance to put a lot of miles on it due to the cold but when I do drive it, I am impressed with the way the power comes on. Here are a couple of YT videos i did.

The biggest "ugly" with Callaway for me was just like my Roush. Sold thru dealers with a full factory warranty. BUT..... No NADA. That is huge for resale and trade in. It eliminates a lot of dealers. If you decide to sell it and the car buyer decides needs financing, many banks and credit unions will not recognize the Callaway value because there is none in the NADA.

Not knocking the conversion just the problems when it comes time to get rid of it.

I don't think educated buyers care and the price difference I don't think is enough to matter.

So, no track day Callaway drivers at this point? I was hoping for some oil/coolant temps after a hard 15-20 minute session at the track.

Thanks for the heads up. Wasn't trying to disparage you guys, just a misunderstanding on my part.

Cheers,

Cheers,
Thanks. Didn't take it as bad at all, just an opportunity to clarify.

A forum member who's local to me (NWBlueZ06 I believe is his username here) posted here that his oil temps were at around 280 after a 20 minute session of driving. He said if I remember correctly that he didn't push it to 10/10, but he did run it hard.

i doubt that this would surprise anyone as there is no additional engine cooling, either oil or water included in the package. Different I/C's for sure, but that won't have any effect on a road course unless the IAT's were responsible for increasing engine temps in the car, and that does not happen.

And I'll point out, 280* is well within the margin of safety for Mobil 1 synthetic. When I look at my oil pressures as temps reach 280-300*, it's comparable to that at the beginning of the session.

Oh okay, I thought there was some improved cooling in this package. If the better IC doesn't affect oil/coolant temps in a substantially positive manner on a road course, then it will likely overheat just as bad or worse due to the extra power. No biggie as most people that buy this package will just love the extra thrust around town and maybe drag strip/half mile/mile track events.

Thanks for the clarification. I still love this package for sure!!

I love the hole in the hood. Bad ***. I had my car at the local cars and coffee last weekend. Ferraris, Lambos, Lotus, Porshe, Vipers, Maclarens. The weather broke and it was packed. Had one fellow tell me on the side out of all the cars there, mine was easily on the top as far as looks go. Opinions.. sure but I get comments like this all the time.
