McLaren 675LT beats Z06 ring time around Willow Springs!
Is it possible to build a fast car in corners and straight line? this is the magic..
1/4 mile trap speed : 139.7 MPH crazy!
Ring time : 1:24.29

Also R&T post a long article about Z06 vs 675LT

Pretty impressive time....looks like the ACR is probably the only thing faster on a track...Similar to the ACR they also talked about the compromises it took, for example the interior (although very nice fit and finish) is extremely noisy, which is not surprising.
I think it's a great accomplishment...They have the best of both worlds because of active aero which is very expensive to employ and likely the reason the Vette and Viper don't have it...but it's the thing of the future for all high-end performance cars...

I think beyond the pricetag - the ~140 MPH trap speed (and this was measured by a magazine with unprepped surfaces) versus a 124-126 MPH (by MT under similar testing criteria) on top of being Mclarens track focused car second only to the P1 - does in fact make this outcome expected.
The 675 LT is a beautiful car and if I could have a sub P1 car - this would be it. But for comparisons sake - I take this as a huge compliment that they are even comparing this car to a 100K car and that the car I own is one of the fastest cars in the world on a track - and can be compared to these cars in the first place.
Cheers!

It's not a big deal. Sure the car costs over $350k, but it's a very impressive car. At about 3000 lbs with 666 HP it seems pretty unstoppable on paper. I don't get why people get mad if a car beats a Z06, nothing wrong with it, there's always faster cars out there.

Scraping the splitter.
I'm pointing out that it's comical how some people have to raise a banner (or start a thread) if the Z06 gets "beat". The OP is one of those people. I guess it makes him feel better about his own car (whatever that is).

.. and any of this has what to do with "ring time"?
Fine machine, fine time, great Z06 time, too.

People couldnt get 12C and 650S either..... and look at their used prices now. Hence my point.

I get it. We can compare the Z to cars that are more expensive but only if the Corvette wins.

That said - the C7 Z06 can and is compared to everything. There is no "can't be compared because it didn't win".
All that most of us are saying is - a 400K, track specific Mclaren, that runs nearly ~140 MPH in the 1/4 in MT testing - we find it not a surprise it won.
There are many more expensive cars that I would In fact expect the Z06 to beat however.
It simply depends on the car.

This thread to prove that "putting a lot of plastic parts to generate huge amount of downforce is not a magic thing". I love the way Chevy build the ZR1 at that time. However, one day I will own Z06.
