High pressure fuel pump lash cap
Has anyone installed a ls7 lash cap on the high pressure fuel pump? Any issues with it and did it actually help? Photos of one installed would be awesome.
Thanks

It can strip the bolts on the fuel pump. I've heard about it on two diff cars. That being said, some hardened bolts should help but if it's pushing that hard, you have to wonder about the longevity of the pump too. Pump failure "should" result in immediate REP mode so I'd hope it would save the motor in a WOT event.

I had an LT4 HPFP failure using a lash cap and 32% OD Cam lobe. The pump was replaced with a new one sans lash cap this time and is doing fine so far. It seems that the LT1 pumps may like the lash cap while the LT4 pumps do not, at least with OD pump lobes. The failure was a part throttle and caused REP mode and luckily no other discernible damage.

Thanks everyone. Definitely not going to try it. Not worth taking the risk because my setup would depend on that little bit of help it would add to the hpfp. Glad I asked.
