Just finished installing and testing the Halltech system. I had a dyno test done before the install and drove 300 miles and change and followed by another test. Granted there seems to be some knock retard with both tests but I'm concerned with the difference between stock vs Halltech. I have to live with 91 octane and other crap they put in the fuel. I will say that the car feels better all around after the install and I did the 40 to 100 test and was amazed how consistent it was. Before the results were not consistent in that most were 4.8 sec to 5.2 sec and occasionally a 4.6 sec. After the install all the runs were 4.6 to 4.3 sec and greater wheel spin than before.

Sound or Volume Question
Hi Jim, Peter or any other CAI User,
Can you describe any exhaust sound/note changes from the engine or exhaust due to the install when in the Sport or Track or Touring modes? When I changed my CAI in my C6 it was a great change in volume and aggressiveness. I guess its not a big difference since this is a Z06, but thought id ask. Thanks

The ad claims the CAI will not void factory warranty. Has that been confirmed? What about if matched up with a Corsa Xtreme and X-pipe aftermarket exhaust system? I'm not looking to add a tune or headers, just want better breathing in and better breathing out without voiding the factory warranty.

I think it depends more on your service rep and the service manager at the dealership. The one I used to take my car to didn't care that I had intake, headers, xpipe, exhaust, and tune. Try calling around to dealerships you would take your car to and ask.

Is the GM warranty dictated by dealership or by corporate? I had a Corsa Indy exhaust with X-pipe installed on my C5 and it was actually endorsed by GM.

Quick update as I stopped in my local dealership yesterday as I'm getting the paperwork ready for a 2017 Z06 order. I spoke with the service manager regarding the Halltech CAI and Corsa Xtreme exhaust mods I'm considering and he told me as long as I don't add a tune, that change the factory settings, there should be no issue with the GM factory warranty with updating the intake and exhaust. He basically said any external changes are usually accepted, it's when we get inside the brains of the engine and reprogram it, the warranty is then in jeopardy.

Our intake will not void your warranty. Our dealer and many others have said the same thing.
We sell directly to many GM dealers that install our systems in their aftermarket service departments.
GM reached out to us last year asking what it would take to get our Stinger in their High Performance Vehicle catalog. I suspect that would never even occur if they had reservations about our intake. One of their chief engineers referred them to us.
