Default C7 Z06 too loud

Is there an after market fix for lowering the db? A local track needs it below 94db to get on the track and can't bust 98db during sessions without incurring a large fine.

Use the menu on the screen to go to Engine Sound Management and select Stealth Mode. It will stay in that mode until you change it.

actually, even in stealth mode, when you get past a certain RPM limit, it will open up.

Correct. ~3,500 rpm. Years after the first C7 was produced we still don't have a solution.

I wonder if it remains in stealth mode past 3500 rpm if some sort of damage or codes start to get thrown from too much back pressure and or heat??

Yes correct I tried that and it blew a 99db in stealth, someone at the track said there was a fix for it but I never got around to talking with them.

Sadly not all appreciate the wonderful music that emanates from the Z06. The louder the better!!

Is it possible to disable the valve actuators? Aren't they electrically operated?

Yes, but disabling the valve actuators results in valves permanently open. The valves are spring loaded open, and the spring is on the valve assembly, not the actuator.

*****,

Those cones work well?

The Ghost had those Magnacrap mufflers, and they drove me crazy. Threw them in the garbage, and bought Corsa. Now I got Corsa on both Vettes.

That is a very good question. I wouldn't think it would be much of an issue for the NA Stingray's but a blown Z06 may be a different story.

As it is the cars EGT's are pushing the margin for damaging the catalytic converters. We see 1600* regularly when pushing the car on the street. I imagine on a track with the valves closed you are asking for trouble.

Buy a Prius or a Tesla. =)

Seriously, I use Track Mode around town and Tour on the freeways. The sound never bothers me as when I am driving my car, its usually on the weekends having fun.

I am sure something in the ECU can be modified.
