I know. I just thought for 16k+ would crack high 8s at high 150s. Great run none the less. I wonder what would run just blower stock cam and manifolds.

It's like telling someone I want a world record performance results but I don't want to spend very much money to get there. Where on the planet was that situation ever achievable??? Speed always has and always will cost money. The faster you want to go, the more it costs and it has NEVER been linear. At certain points, it cost much more for a small improvement compared to what you spent early on for larger performance gains.

What are you talking about? Those were less than ideal conditions because of track temperature and that car ran a HALF SECOND faster than the previous record. That money was very well spent. There are ALOT of very surprised people at the track last night and by the looks on their faces you knew they were thinking WTF???

Let's see a stock blower or some crappy edelbrock/maggie perform like this. Great job AMP and Procharger for a killer combination. I'm pretty sure this car has a lot left in it also.

Maybe its time you became a dealer for Procharger and got on the bandwagon of real horsepower that produces.

I'm the type who likes to see how far oem blower goes then doing the big stuff. Guys are running 8s on the stock 1.9 ctsv blower on my ctsv forum. I just want to wee 1.7 at max potential before spending big baller $$$$ congrats once again

A procharger kit isn't even big baller money. The stock blower is a waste of time. Gotta get a bunch of cooling mods just to be meh.

Something seems off?
3k of mods.
-IW 18% lower pulley
-AFE CAI
-HorsePowerAddicts tuning
-Corsa Mid pipe
-17/18 wheel setup
-93/109 fuel mix
9.814@141mph
Then the procharger set up wit meth and cam and exhaust 16000 in parts only.
Procharger makes 350 more rwhp and 300 more torque
Runs 9mph faster and 5/10ths quicker. I thought with that much more power would run a lot faster. NOT saying it isn't fast but for how much spent I was thinking would be much faster

I think we need to give credit where credit is due. Trap speed tells me what I need to know here - and being in the 150's means low 9's - maybe high 8's if they push it to mid-higher 150's. That's traction and it takes time to get that part of the tune dialed in (along with great track prep).
I also don't think that staying with the stock blower is worthless. It really depends what the owner wants; For myself, I've gone big power ultra builds and didn't want that for this car. I wanted to be quicker, reliable and able to remove the parts and tune when I wanted to move on to something else. I have slightly more mods that the record holder - so I am hoping for the same high 9 second at ~140 MPH - that, plus everyday useable power - is good enough for me.
Do I think someone could squeeze a 150 MPH trap out of the 1.7L unit? Maybe - but it isn't a build I would want a part of. What's missing in the discussion about prochargers is the EASE of which bigger power can be added. There will be deep 8 second cars on these setups.
It's just a matter of testing, tuning and time.

1) The track wasn't ideal
2) The car was in "street mode" aka, no weight removed, slicks, etc.
3) IT was the FIRST PASS on the car.
Others have had penalty of time to dial one in. And this car goes out and does it on the first pass. That says a lot.
I have a feeling that a lot of the guys with big power ProCharger cars will be hitting more tracks as the weather gets better, and more tricks can be found in the tuning and transmission.
The REAL amazing numbers will come from the 1/2 mile and 1 mile times these cars are going to pull. Cause that is where a centri-blower shines even more.
NOTE: Pretty stoked to have the Worlds Quickest Gen5 Viper, and C7Z in the same week!!! (Both coming out of TX)
