I wonder if it's a Camaro? The raised part of the hood is a little more squared off than a C7 and the right fender looks different too.

Like everyone else I wondered what was going through the mind of the driver. What he did after crashing the gate was just mindless. Thanks for posting the video, it was an interesting watch.

Yeah... at turn 3 he was already going in too hot and he said he was still on throttle while his right tires were on the curb but he slid and hit grass so you know what happens after that.... he slid into tire wall towards turn 4. It was our 2nd lap out that session and he swore his Cup 2 tires were warmed up.

Sorry for the newbie question, never been on a track with a car before...

How many laps on your average track for a track day event does it usually take to heat up a set of tires?

It depends... for example if you start off with cold tire pressures at 26psi and by 2nd lap you're still <30psi then your tires aren't wholly heated well yet. Get them at a minimum 32-33psi before digging a little harder & harder. You have to build up speed especially through risky sectors in increments... this is why I keep my tire pressure screen up in the DIC so I can gauge my tires' pressures lap after lap. Then again I'm not out to set the fastest lap time so it also makes sense to be cautious in areas where you still need to improve on...

No need to worry about warranties! Esp when you need insurance.

Looks like the toasted tires were not such a good idea. Along with going to the track that day!
