I have read this FULL post and seeing many different ways to keep the CEL from coming on.
Looking for a PROVEN option to keep the CEL from coming on besides the obvious of tuning, whether it’s the angle bid daddies or anti-foul.......
Please let me know what you used and how many miles without getting the CEL.
Thanks
Angle big daddy's 3000 miles no cell.

No cat material just empty angle cell fix from big daddy. Face the driver side toward front and passenger side toward rear of car for easier install.

Getting ready to add this setup to my Z06. I've cracked the stock cat setup and expect to crack a new OEM set sooner or later. I think the heat shields on the stock pipe cause them to crack, but removing the shields obviously isn't an option. I'm wondering what year car the people who have had problems with the engine light and codes have. I have a 16 and wondering if maybe newer cars might have some differences in the ecu?

Also are the people who had problems using new or old O2 sensors? Could an old O2 have some corrosion on them that might help fool the ECU? I have both old and new O2's wonder if I should try the old ones 1st.

My cracked left side (driver side) OEM pipe

Just a quick update
Received my cat delete and they installed fine, coated inside out and then i removed them....

Nothing wrong with product, my car just got too loud.... for my tracks. so no use in getting kicked off after 10 hour drive :-)

On a side not, i don't know how much power i lost by going back to stock main CAT pipe again, but boost is now 1.2 psi more ......
All my log with HP tuner , driving and on dyne show 10.31 psi boost with cat delete and 11.5 after my swap back to stpock pipes...

So stock pipes are restrictive, my air pump engine is now choking :-(

just my 0.2c

Rune,

You want to run the stock X pipe with the cats there, they are high flow cats. They will keep you quiet and kill the gas fume smell.

The norcal pipes are the cats that need to be gotten rid of, they are restrictive.

more pressure has to be created UP STREAM of the cats to get the air to flow through the cats.

You make more PSI, but you make LESS HORSE POWER.

Boost is not power, air flow is power.

Remove the restriction, and more air can flow through your air compressor you call an engine... and that engine can make more torque and horsepower.

Less PSI is created in your mouth when you can blow out into the air, than if I make you blow that same amount of air through a straw.

More psi is better when nothing is changed down stream... and instead it is pulleys at the blower for example, then 15psi is better than 10psi... yes....

but if i can change something downstream to LOWER upstream PSI by allowing the air to flow through the system easier, then that downstream change is beneficial. The main cats are the clog which prohibit air flow and raise upstream psi as a result.

Yes.
Engine is like an air pump...
X volum from SC try to get through engine, the more engine "inhales" and burn correctly = more power

After old cat was back, it blocked the total flow and now makes less HP, and has more pressure trying to get into engine

Stock X pipe with Cats, and Norcal replaced the main cats..

then i would cut the x pipe and add another set of additional high flow cats. but you do what you think is best, its your car and your heat and power.. so if you can manage with the car the way it is, i guess leave it alone.

The biggest perk is being able to shut COT off. Makes your car create more power on less fuel.

COT is off
I dont want this, but i might have to live with it or find a better solution using the CAT delete....
I think i will look into using COT delete pipes and fabricate X pipe with CATs and muffler pipes
maybe try to get high flow cats into CAT delete pipes....

But for first track days , friday-sunday i will have to run with stock setup.... and see oil, water and IAT temps :-)

if your cot is off, your cats will be clogged in no time if your main cats are back in place. You will be running the norcal's before you know it, or you will be buying new midpipes with cats (probably more expensive than the norcal pipes)

I don't think he was saying it was to loud for him personally, just that it is to loud to pass the sound testing at the race courses he road races at. Sound testing is apparently common practice at European tracks and enforced.
