McLaren 570S vs Z06...Torn ??
Considering the purchase of the Z06 or the 570S and am so torn.. Yes the price of the McLaren is more than double. But the looks in my opinion are so much more exotic.
The performance of both are very similar, the 570S handles a bit better in the corners due to the mid mount engine. However, I doubt in either case I would be using them on the track.
You only live once? Or will the novelty wear off for me on the 570S?
Anyone own the 570S that could weigh in or comment?

Both awesome cars.....perhaps own both? If not then I think like the other poster that you have already answered your own question.

Scraping the splitter.
Enzom has a 570 and owned a C7 Z. PM him.
The 570 is faster than the Z06. It's likely underrated by McLaren and the car is very light.
If you're not tracking it, then maybe it's a better choice. If you're tracking it, only you can determine the threshold for what you can afford to lose (is it crashing a $90k car or a $180k car).
The Mac is a very cool car, and I love what they've done over the last few years.

I find the McLaren looks like something I'd have drawn when I was 12.
I read an article pitting it against a NA Porsche and it was close but the McLaren won out.
It is impressive and I can imagine very exhilarating to drive but I can't get past the look of it.

If money is truly no object, get both. If it's a matter of parking spaces get the McClaren.

test drove the 570s, then headed to the Chevrolet dealer and bought the z.
getting in and out is a PITA.
no room for your left foot.
no manual transmission.
but damm it's fast and the front end is similar to a Radical.
would take it in yellow

The expense of maintaining a Mclaren makes me want to puke.
Seriously the bang for the buck American cars makes them far more practical to enjoy IMHO. Cars like the Mac end up being saved for 30 min drives on Sundays. The people I've seen track them drive them with so much caution that it looks more painful than fun. If you can afford the Mac, get the Z and drive the **** out of it knowing you can afford another when it's beaten up .

Lots of Porsche turbo faithful are moving to Mclarens....
Man the depreciation in the 12c makes that a tempting choice as well.
The 570 is very cool. Your on a corvette forum and many of us are saying go for the mclaren...
Your money ...your choice...
Between the Porsche 911 turbo S at 204 grand that I keep seeing at the Porsche dealerships and shows......or the 570....
570 all day long...
Just more exotic...
The z06 s can be had for 80...equal performance but hundred grand less....
Hard to say what you should do....depends on your life...
What the hell...it's your money...get the 570!

I would strongly advise that you wait till the 570 is a couple of years into its life cycle. My friend had to have his car bought back last week - engine kept dying on him and all kinds of electrical glitches. The dealer support for Mclaren is very poor and they are still maturing with regards to customer service. The Z06 is a phenomenal car and you will NOT regret it!

I don't know...
We had a dragstrip rental and 2 guys showed with McLaren 550's. I was able to beat them both in my M7 Z07.
I'd be pissed if I spent THAT much money and was still looking at Chevy taillights.

What's a McLaren 550? 650 or 570?
