Default What do you think?

Just playing around with some Plastidip spray paint. I can just peel it off, and even has the metallic like the carbon flash. Not overly thrilled with it, I'm sure it would look better with the lamps tinted, but that's not my thing, I'm an old bird. I think this car has too much going on to add things like this, it gets too busy. I may do a ghost pearl stripe on my new '17 Black Rose. I painted this hood stinger and wrapped it around the front scoop edge, looks much better than a dull decal.

Personally, I think it's a little too busy with the black on the hood and the rest of the car. Just not feelin' it. By the way, beautiful car.

Default I think you should trust your first impression

Excellent work! Good looking car!

I think your impression that it's a bit too busy is accurate. A bit like a beautiful woman wearing too much makeup as opposed to just the right amount.

Nope for me.

Is just my tablet? I see an extra "thanks" button at the bottom of each reply. That'll be a lot of thanks buttons on longer threads.

My Android tablet displays the same way, but only when I display the full site, not when I work with the mobile site.

Looks like the number of thanks buttons corresponds with the number of posts in the thread. Or maybe they're hoping everyone will be thankful and try to get along. That's a longshot.

I think it looks good. And that's what it is all about is, us personalizing our cars to our own tastes. I've never been a "cookie cutter fan " of keeping it all stock looking.

Looks good. Did you mask off the areas on the hood not to be painted with tape and just peel it off?

Looks good but I think what you should do is paint the whole car black. Then it would be perfect.

I am familiar with the plastic dip but I wasn't aware you could apply it to a painted surface and peel it off.

Is there any lasting affect to the underlying paint?

I ask because this could be a possible solution to my rocker/quarter panel issue if I could find a matching or flat matching color.

It might be worth a look see. I could try it for a few days and if it doesn't look good, peel it off and be back where I started.

Was there a particular brand you used and where did you get it?

Thanks

Not my taste but you did a good job imo. I love dip. I dipped my front grill on my CTS-V and it's held up great. I say you dip the wheels, it will totally change the look of your car.

At Lowes they had a display, and they even had the clear with metallic in it. I sprayed the black until it covered then sprayed a good coat of the metallic over it. You have to pull the tape off quickly to cut the paint line without pulling the paint with it. I did the rockers on my truck, but getting in and out would rub it and start it peeling. I can be blown off with a pressure washer, or peeled off. It does not hurt the under part at all when removed. Clean the area well with a glaze or compound before spraying. Use a fineline tape (found at auto paint supply stores or your local body shop. Use 1/4" to pop the line and tape it off.
