High Capacity SD card in PDR
I wasn't sure if I could use anything larger than a 32 GB card but I gave it a try. Picked up a 128 GB Class 10 Sony SD card from Amazon for $39. I used the following link to format the card to FAT32 and it worked flawlessly! Took about 15 seconds to format the card. Just click the link, download the software in about 30 seconds, and format the card. (just make sure you select your SD card as the drive and not your hard drive)

Either you give the car to the valet for far too long or you need to sort through your track day footage more often. That's a lot of minutes!

I did the same thing, mostly bought it for the high speed record and play back, nothing worse than a slow sd card.
To format it, I used "EaseUS Partition Master 10.8" instead, worked like a champ

Little touchy man. I was joking with you. Not everyone on this site is out for blood on every post.

Thank you, I appreciate the tip.

I run 256G. Haven't touched it in 2000 miles and I use it as a dash cam whenever I remember, hasn't filled up yet! 12,000 minutes or something like that.

On the format issue, I simply insert the card into my PC, go to my computer right click the card and select quick format. It will prompt for the type. Fat 32 or NTSF. I only have a 32Gb card. I haven't used it yet but I may stray off and give it a try today!

There are a number of threads with utilities that work. I used Fat32Format but there are simpler ones too.

sd card for the pdr
If anyone looking for an inexpensive card!
I just purchased
SanDisk Ultra 32 GB SDHC SDXC SD Class 10 48MB/s 320x Memory Card SDSDUNB-032G off Ebay for $10.90 and that's with free shipping. Took it out of the package and put it into the car.
This SanDisk SDHC comes formatted in FAT32. 785 minutes which is just over 13hrs.

Using the Fat32Format tool, I formated a 256GB card I had laying around. Worked perfectly, but only using the Fat32 format. ExtFat doesn't work.
Shows 6700+ minutes on the clock. An 8GB card I had will only yield 27 minutes.

I like to leave the cameras on. Too many jerks who think it is necessary to cut me off from either side. I just want their info so when they do cause the accident I have their info. how can you format these cards if you do not have a windows computer?

If you can burn and boot from CD, then do a web search for ultimate boot cd. The web site mentions an experimental version for booting from a USB stick. The CD has it's own standalone operating system (some version of Linux probably) that runs in RAM without needing any hard drives to install or run it. You will need someway to burn the CD.
