Default Pop when turning wheel

ok i noticed a while back that when i turn the wheel all the way sometimes I get a slight pop which i originally thought was the wheel rubbing but now its happening more frequent and with less of a turn.Yes im bringing it to the dealer but any ideas of what would cause this,I only drive on the street. It sounds like a old cv joint would sound when its toast.

several threads about it. Ackerman effect or something on that order. Surprised you hadn't felt it a year ago, I did.

From the manual..

Tire Chatter/Hop
When driving at slow speeds and in
very tight turns, the vehicle may
have tire chatter/hop. This is normal
and the vehicle does not require service.

When the tires are warmed up?
Mine usually does it when pulling out of the garage and first turning the wheel.

I run first to redline prolly 4-5x a day so i assume Im on the verge of wearing down something in there from the stress.

Possible, I guess.
Not sure how redlining would wear out front suspension stuff.

I've had a 2016 Z06/Z07 for a couple of weeks now and noticed the tire chatter/hop right away. In looking at the owners manual, they referenced that tire chatter/hop is normal when driving at slow speeds or in very tight turns. (PG 22 of 2016 manual has more detail)

I'm keeping an eye (or should I say ear!) on it. In my case, it does seem to happen only when making hard turns at low speeds such as backing out of the driveway.

That is normal and even worse when the tires are wet and cold.

Things that I have had happen that caused something similar: loose wheels, loose upper control arms, loose wheel hubs, defective tie-rod ends, loose or defective steering rack, and I wouldn't rule out ball joints either.

This "chatter/hop" is common to my Z 06 and also same with my CTS V. I own several different sports cars and this does not occur with any other. Is their someone who understands why the GM cars do this? Best

Could be. The best advice is to assume it's normal. Luckily, Chevrolet has trained a lot of Service Advisors who will tell you almost anything that you bring in during the warranty period is "normal" so you won't have to worry about any unnecessary work being performed.

What I have heard from my 2 is more of a low-pitched "bang," almost like a subwoofer.

Same here.
Somebody around here must know...

I read it, but doesn't explain what EXACTLY is the sound.
Something in the suspension "bangs" once, definitely NOT a tire sound.
Sounds like taking a sledge hammer to a front suspension part or something (spring?) stout popping back in or out of place...sorry if I can't explain it well.

The problem is that it could be TONS of stuff. Without looking at it in person it's hard to say. Have you pulled your tires off and looked at the front suspension. It may be obvious.
