Default 2016 Turbo S with exhaust/stage 2 flash vs Stock C7 Z06 A8

This has been confirmed on a Porsche forum that it's a stage 2 flash with an exhaust. For those that don't know just a flash on a Porsche turbo adds a substantial amount of power. Add the exhaust and the 991 Turbo S probably picked up almost 100 more horsepower.

I think this is a pretty good showing for the Z considering the opponent and mods. Also there isn't a car out there that can out launch a 991 Turbo S. They are really nasty from a dig and even out launch the Nissan GTR. I am sure that stage 3 Aero wasn't helping the Z06 in this instance either.

In drag racing, we call that a red light. The Z jumped the gun at 2 1/2 on every race. I have raced one of those Porsches with the tune and exhaust (with my red car). Those things are wicked fast. 10.35 as I recall.

Thanks for posting. Pretty cool. The Porsche beat him every time. Not real surprised. The Z did show good. That being said mod vs. un-mod pretty much outcome expected. And I am not a Porsche fan. Probably because I can't afford $200-$300K for the ones I really like. They make a great car. And hands down your not going to beat them from a dig. I have driven one and it was hands down the fastest stock car I have ever driven from a dig. Crazy fast. The AWD you can feel being pushed and pulled at the same time. It is cool. I can say from a roll stock vs. stock the Z will beat it or not get pulled on.

Yes with just a tune and exhaust those new 991.2 Turbo S cars are running low low 10s. Absolute mosters. I'd love to own a 997 turbo S one day next to my ECS Stingray.

That's what I really wanted to see a stock A8 Z06 vs a stock 991 Turbo S from a 40 roll. Would have been interesting since the 40 roll in the video I thought the Z did very well.

Yup. And the Z got the jump, red light, every time. Good kill video. No excuses...unless it was a set up (joking)

This was not a fair race at all. AWD vs RWD, Modded vs Unmodded, and of course the $180k vs $90k difference.

Default 991 Turbo S

i Own both a C6 ZR1 and a Porsche 991 Turbo S. There isn't a car out there that can out launch a stock Turbo S. best time with Turbo S 10.52s 1/4 mile, 0-62mph in 2.6s. I like my C6 ZR1 but compare with Turbo S....nothing. Here is a another video Hellcat vs GTR vs Turbo S

This is absolutely retarded. Why would anyone with even a quarter of a working brain start a drag race already spinning your tires lmao. I wanted to slap that guy so bad watching that video. Yes the Turbo S would have won anyway but it's a complete jackass move.

I raced a flash/exhaust 991 turbo s from a roll and put about a car and a half on him. Maybe 2 cars was hard to tell. They are really really fast though. My car has an ECS kit/meth/headers and is an A8.

I was playing with one at VIR last weekend. He definitely had better legs on the long straights but I could reel him in under brakes and in the corners. I assume he was stock and I know we both were on Cup 2 tires.

AWD vs. RWD over a short distance?
Predictable outcome.

Did you watch the whole video? They also did a roll race from 40mph. The Z did pretty good, it did jump a little though but the roll race was closer than the dig race.

Price dont win races, HP and traction does. If price wins races then the Rolls Royce Phantom will be at least twice as fast than the Turbo S, plus they did race from a roll, the Z06 lost.

Now what if the Z would have won?
It's always fair.

Yep.
BTW, what is the weight and power differential?

Thats a good question. I still think weight to power would go to the vette. Unfortunately the C7Z has increased in weight substantially over the previous model and now weighs about the same as the turbo s. I believe both are roughly around 3500lbs now.

However the Z has 650hp and the turbo s I believe is rated at 560hp and the 2017 may be 570 or so. I'm probably off a little. The Z would gave a better power to weight ratio but I'm assuming it's the aero that really hurts it in these straight line runs.

I had my C7Z on the scales at VIR last weekend as well. 3559 lbs with a full fuel load. 3LZ M7 with AP Racing brakes. That was with stock wheels and MPSC2 tires as well.
